Default Lowboy Gooseneck

Help!

I am looking at trailers... something to haul the big ADT about.

This type of plant is normally transported on a lowboy style trailer. However, I can not for the life of me, understand how the detachable gooseneck works...

I've watched lots of videos on you tube, but don't understand the mechanical/physics.

Let me try and expain.. when the gooseneck is detached, it rests on the fifth wheel. The tractor unit reverses up to the trailer, hooks on and then the lowboy rises off the ground without applying any more load on the fifth wheel of the tractor unit... how does that work? Anybody got any drawings on the mechanical setup please!

Thanks
Elliot
