Default globe liner optimus prime

So, I figured most of us here are probably as geeky as me and would get a kick out of this. Ive built an optimus prime replica out of a tamiya globe liner, still lots to do but heres some pics. I do have a custom aluminum front bumper coming that resembles the G1 prime bumper. Let me know what you think !

I would like to thank Adam at tntcustomz for the wicked paint, and Russ from the boneyard for the custom bumper!

Ill post more pics and vids when shes all done!

That's awesome. It's funny I was talking to SnP customs about doing the Pete version. Looks great. I just had my nails done with an Optimus Prime theme.

Can't wait to see it complete

That is so ridiculously cool, I can't even begin to tell ya! Great idea and well done!. Can't wait to see it finished, will look great with a box trailer done like the G1 trailer.

I have seen a few static and RC models of the new Prime, but never a 1/14 G1 Prime. Wow....

Thanks guys! The autobot logos on the sleeper are painted and the mudflaps were made by tntcustomz. I have an mfu in there and plan to add a tbs mini sound unit as well so I can play special effects sounds and movie quotes on command.

The box trailer will have to wait until the new year due to funds ( unless someone wants to sell me one real cheap hint hint..... Lol)

Also, I've been toying with the idea of using el panels off eBay cut to mudflap size so I can make the mudflaps glow blue along with the underglow. Also plan on putting some behind the grill and inside the exhaust guards, what's everyone think?

Wow, that bumper is nice, but I do not remember the G1 Optimus having one like that. I thought that came along a bit later. Or maybe the G1 Optimus toys didn't exactly match the cartoon character? I have a re-release G1 Optimus Prime, and it's bumper is pretty square, with no relief cut in it. I was, and still am a big fan. Nice spin on a Globeliner.

ya ive seen about half a dozen variants of the bumper between the toys and the cartoons. this ones loosely based on the one from the movie, for me it looked the most like what i remembered seeing on him.

the inspiration came from a clip from the movie used in a music video for "machine head" by bush, near the end where primes in vehicle form chasing down a decepticon, as he drives towards the camera. if you havnt seen the video check it out, its cool ! right around the 3:30 mark

You could do a variant of the same truck, but painted white, so that it would Ultra Magnus inspired.
