here's a quick video of the dozer in gravel, clearing the new site for some summer digging.
need to make a few roads for the trucks to transport the loader and excavator.
need to finish a few things , like faster rams and paint .
Ripper needs replacing but that's another night shift.

Nice Andy,

that Dozer can push rock with ease!! It must have some good weight to it.

Andyathome-I wish you would think about something before you change the blade lift speed. I think the speed is good. A lot of dozers you see on here are jerking the blade up & down 1/4" and that is not realistic. You will never see a full size dozer with that extreme blade movement. When I watch a video of a model I like to see good, steady realistic movements of the entire machine and I think your dozer does that. All the video of real machines that I have watched the blade movement is so slight that you can hardly see it move while they are pushing. You can not do that with fast movements of the blade on a model. Your scale look is off a little with the very high sprocket (was there a reason for this), but I will take a model that works good over a model that looks good anytime and yours certainly seems to work great. Your model looks good, I was just talking from a scale point of view. It pushes the rock & gravel with very little effort and it will be interesting to see it in the dirt. Nice work, keep at it.

hi modelman,
unless santa brings me some more rams ( not likely) I will be keeping the slow ones.
after a bit of practice we are getting used to them and when to activate them to achieve what we want the dozer to do, I weighs in just under 35kg with a 6500ma lipo battery and has a few issues in the pit, If we push too much dirt it digs a hole with the tracks, so soft dirt will be a challenge.
just need to change our driving style, or wider tracks.
as for the track sprocket height, with the type of motor gear box I have that is as low as I can get the drive sprocket, just a space issue inside the dozer, I could have made it longer and wider to get the right look, but then its not going to fit on the trucks and will be way too big.
for the time being the kids are enjoying them selves and it pushes good.
I still have about 8 feet of track leftover so might build one for me and try to do it more scale, once I finish of all other rc projects and anything else the wife comes up with .
at the moment this is still a hobby and hasn't become an obsession yet but I can see it happening. LOL..

cheers andy

had a bit of time to replace the ripper.
found some good sized bits of aluminium in the junk pile and come up with this, in picture it is fully extended down, in the up position it has about 50mm / 2 inches of ground clearance.
the paint is drying and should be dry for the official test run tommorow,

I want to make up a couple of covers for the cables on the blade tilt rams and then the dozer will be finnished.

Smile Re: JBC limited NZ

well today Im home alone, that can only mean one thing,"play time".
heres a couple of pictures and a video to follow.
I have finished the ripper for the dozer and have tested it out, may make some changes later , but for now it works.
have started to clear an area for some summer digging but am finding 10 to 12 inches of hard packed gravel. the previous owner used to park his truck in the spot I want to dig!!!
will test the excavator.
I have some new rams to fit to the excavator, and a few access roads to make.
SWEET!!!

Nice Andy! The dozer looks like areal beast from that angle!

Where did you get the tires that are on your truck? I have seen them around the net but I was just wondering if you found a good deal somewhere.

Thanks, Reg

The tyres on the truck, I think I got them from eagle machinery of aliexpress in china, I know they were cheap compared to ebay but its been a while so cant be sure.

sure, will post some when I finish work.
The screener is made from an old drain pipe with two different size mesh.
I had an old spit roast motor doing nothing and some old aluminium filter frames.
I now have 4 speed controls, $10 each.
1 for drum speed, 2 for conveyors and 1 for the vibrator motor that is fitted to the infeed hopper.
I made up a control box and fitted a 12v power supply and a 230v supply for the spit motor.
It runs nice and quiet unless there is nothing in the hopper.

There is a quick video on the first or second page of this post, will do some more videos with excavator and screener on my days off.

cheers andy

here's a few pictures of the trommel and a quick video of the gold trommel.
I gutted the black power supply and fitted the board into the main control box, have used banana plugs for the conveyors and motors so it can be transported easily, will one day make the control box into a container so it looks like a generator setup , but that's another job.
the gold trommel uses a portable shower pump 12v to cycle the water but it needs more flow so will look for a high flow pump to replace it one day.
The kids grab some brass dust of the lathe and sprinkle it in the slues box and instant gold.
shame its not worth much but looks good.

Thanks for the screen pictures didn't realize it was sluice too. You just need to get where there's gold.

I have a screening plant for the dirt , that is the one in the photos and another trommel for the gravel, that one is used with water and finds large amounts of useless fake gold.

way too hot today, had to stop spraying and spend some time in the shed.
dragged the roller off the shelf and fitted some electrics and had a play.
need ball joints for the steering , add some BBs to the rear wheels and make some body mounts.
Will probably mount the steering servo upside down and cover large hole in front of roller.

This was just a quick build of scrap parts so only rear wheels are powered and no vibrator in roller drum.
