8x4 vs 8x8
of i am getting tin th mood to builld a new truck. but i kind of want to do something easy.... well kind of. im thinking a simple 8x4 tipper/utility truck.
i got a bruder man cab that looking for a frame. heres the question, will a 8x4 truck be any better on soft dirt/sand then 6x4 or ever a 2x4? i don't really want to mess with a awd drive this time. i see alot of 1.1 trucks 8x4 or 6x4 and my scania dose ok off road 6x4 but it get stuck becuse it sinks in the sand. any input would be great |

Re: 8x4 vs 8x8
You might get a little better floatation, with an extra steering axle, but honestly, it will still get stuck just about the same as any 6x4 truck. An extra non-driven steer axle is extra rolling resistance that the rear has to push. I'd go 6x6, or 8x8. Either would be better then an 8x4.
