Default Are you greasing the pivots of your excavator?

This is a daily (or at least weekly) ritual on working prototypes

If you do grease, what is your favorite?

On my selfmade excavator i‘ve used self greasing materials like brass or bronce for bolts etc.

I think, if you grease them, you will get a big mess with the mix of sand and grease.

Ok
On prototypes I do see a lot of dirt on the grease that squeezes out but since they are fed grease from within (from the zerk) I guess it is no problem.

Maybe try to start with something like Teflon dry-lube for the dirty areas, or Light machine oil for the better protected areas?

A new machine arrived today . First thing I did was pull all the pins I could and grease them. It's an easy job and IMO it is definitely "regularly scheduled maintenance" for an excavator so not worried about dirt buildup.

Top boom bushings just about dry

squeeze out is a good thing...as long as it is cleaned up

Machine is a 1/12 DIM PC360 and although it is a lot bigger than the 360L it weighs about the same. The 360L is very dense for sure.

full reach comparo

full "up" comparo
