Nearly there truckmaker, I think the larger planetary motors will just seal the deal when they arrive from China. These can be made any length, like a few mm stroke or 10 inches, just lengthen or shorten the rail, acme shaft and tubes accordingly. No limit. Yes a lathe is needed to turn off the aluminium end cap to fit inside the outer barrel tube, drill it in the chuck dead straight and turn off a nice end on it to look authentic like a hyd ram. That only took 10 mins on the lathe so a shop would not cost much. Going to make two more in the morning to complete the 4 x barrel ripper set. When I have them nailed I'll put up a set of pdf plans and material list here so those that want to go all-electric can use them and mod to suit.
