I agree! This truck looks so drab in front of such a nice trailer. All white truck or white with stripes on truck and trailer would awesome!

Great work Reg that one looks really good! Check out this half round I stumbled across reminded me of the white one you finished.

Another update on this one. The tub is pretty much finished now. I need to add mudflaps and then I can start on the tarp mechanism.

LOL, Maybe they will hire me to make a mini trailer to go with each full size! Yeah, probably not...

I thought I could knock this one out in a week since I had all of the lift parts pre-made but as usual it is taking longer than I hoped. Some of that is because of design changes but sometimes things need to be adjusted as you go along so I've learned to deal with it. I would rather it take longer than I thought and come out right than make it in a hurry and feel like I slapped it together. It would be nice if I could build one per week though. Then I wouldn't feel guilty about taking a whole weekend off!

I spent all day working on tarp mech parts. It seems I am being asked to do this more so I am trying to come up with a "system" instead of reinventing the wheel each time. Don't get me wrong, the parts will still be hand made and therefore be time consuming to make but at least I will be able to make multiple parts at once for my stockpile.

Yesterday I quickly made some pulleys and today I started out bending up two frames and making a template. I then machined up some motor mounts and began assembling pieces. It takes a fair bit of time to make all of this stuff from scratch so hopefully some of these parts will get me through a few trailers.

This one is a size reference for Bo...

Thanks for looking!

What can I say, easy jobs are done first. PITA jobs come second. Guess which one your trailer was...

I wonder how long it takes them to make a real trailer?

So Reg are you that small or do you have a shrink ray that you use on yourself? Or do use it on the trailer when your done building, well no wonder they look so exactly like the 1:1's, Because they were originally 1:1.

Yeah, no I'm not nuts I'm just a member of this forum

It's pretty chilly in the shop some days so there is no need for a "shrink ray".

Haha, it wasn't the worst that's for sure. It was more involved than I would have guessed but it's not so much that it needed to be difficult, I just don't have the right tools for easily bending a 1/4 round. Once the tub was bent up the rest was actually pretty cool. It's my favorite trailer to date based on looks although I'm in no rush to build another like it. Is it there yet? I haven't checked the tracking.

Thanks Brandon. I'm gonna quickly finish the little sister to this one and then I will be able to focus on yours 100%. I received the suspension and axles for "lil sis" yesterday so I worked on it last night until I had the frame made and mostly assembled. It will be riding on a tri axle Tamiya setup. I will be looking to sell it once completed. One person is possibly interested but I don't know if they are going to take it yet. More updates to come!
