I used a tapered bearing on the top (carries both radial and thrust load):
http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-ba...rings/=122wlwm And I used a regular ball bearing underneath. I machined aluminum bearing holders and screwed a 72t gear-ring onto the top one. This might have been overkill, but it is super tight and it turns very smooth. Paul |
