Default "Got Bacon??"

Well I just got into this hobby by acquiring a Tamiya Cascadia Evolution on Tuesday 8-19-2014. After literally 3.5-4 hours of unboxing the kit and assembling the transmission, I have one of the shifted plates backwards, I was hooked.
At this point the truck is just the basic kit, I need to invest in servos, esc, mfu, and batteries. I have a older Futaba skysport 6 six, 6 channel narrowband crystal radio unit and Futaba 7 channel receiver. Anyways here we go.

Ill upload more soon

Well to be honest I'm not sure myself I just figured it would draw people in the the thread lol. I'm thinking that that might end up being the "name" I scribe onto the rear of the truck. Or get a box trailer and wrap it with a vinyl wrap made to look like bacon. The "got bacon?" Actually comes from a restaurant in birch run Michigan by the name of tony's where they specialize in bacon, blt's have a full pound of bacon. And it just stuck for me.

Well looks like I'll need to get onto a computer to continue with this. My phone won't do it.

Well lets try this again...
here are some basic chassis completion pics before and after a coat of Rust-oleum Kona Brown
before

after

you might ask your self why Kona Brown? well lets just say i laid down a really fine coat of Testors single coat lacquer Root-beer with no flaws but i wanted it protected so i laid some clear on it , when i came back it completely ruined the root-beer color, dulled it right down to a light brown... i also laid down a very nice coat of Testors One coat lacquer Inca Gold on the transmission cover.
the transmission cover-

after that red pepper dried i laid down some Testors Gloss Black on it to break up the red and make the truck slightly different than all the others out there.

i absolutely hate chrome so i had to get rid of all the chromed peices up until this point, upper and lower grill, mirror fronts, wheels, headlight housings, side steps and hitch release plate were all either painted Kona Brown or Gloss Black depending on where they were located

Well folks it's been a couple Months since I posted last, so here is a few updates. This truck has acquired a name for the build, "MAJOR HAULER", the company name will be "HOOK & HAUL INC." and will be dedicated to my retired police chief grandpa who passed away back in september with a title on the future headache rack being "ONE LAST RIDE". This is in the works to be a tri-drive heavy haul rig. At this point it is a completely custom one off build. So now for what you've all been waiting for, the updated pictures...

Prepping ! for modifications

Let the cutting begin...

Showing the next cut...

Wow shaved 4.5"...

Wow quite a difference..

There is the next two cuts...

There's the body on the chassis...

There's the start of the new roof line..
That's all I've got right now but there has slowly been more progress. Thanks for looking, please provide feedback

Thanks izzy this build was very daunting to me, but thanks to Dwayne, 1985kenworth and Jakebrake I proceeded. It hasn't progressed much but it does now have a roof.

Sadly I think it's been more of a money issue than a intimidation of the build

Well I picked up some cheap 1/2" inside diameter copper tubing recently and cut and bent some stacks for the rig for now.

Well I have a small update, I wasn't sure where this build would incorporate the title "GOT BACON", I have determined that now and have proceeded with it.

well guys, back in may i pawned this truck to keep myself outta jail. i recently got it back and wasted no time starting back on it.

i added a completely custom one off drop visor, and instantly fell in love with the look of it.

soon the truck will receive a third axle and a few more upgrades...
please dont be afraid to give your honest opinion thanks for looking
