Bought this off eBay last week.

Came ready to run Wich is odd because I like to build.its half the fun! But this was such a good deal I could not pass on it.

100% stock and not a scratch on it or under it. Was only missing the horns and they forgot to add a few bushings in the diffs but I fixed that. A misplaced snap ring in the trans was also found and corrected.

I ran it stock for the first few days then started modding it tonight. Here is what I did so far

I removed the roo bar so it will get over a crack in the sidewalk. looked cool. But.....it was way to low.Added rc4wd roady tires and budd wheels. Installed / fabracated tubes for dual air intakes. Added a horn. Adjusted my steering tie rod to get more cut. Removed front axel,rear rear axel shocks and the axel stops for improved articulation. Rc4wd 7tooth pinion. Put a used 5th wheel on that is set further forward of my tandem centers to improve turning. Rear rear axel is locked for better traction.



My plans are to find some king rails and put a nice mid range stretch to it. I may push the front axel forward if I can make the body work without having to repaint it? Want to put a roof spoiler on and install lights.

King rails would look good but I think knight hauler rails would also look nice they are just a little longer and I don't think they would be too long. Nice truck you grabbed off ebay. those roo bars are the worst thing they ever made just plain ugly...

Looks like a nice start to a great ride COE's have to be my favorite truck to work with. Might be because I have 4 of them Keep the pics coming of the changes!

Thanks guys...how much longer is the knight rail vs king...and would the knight rails have more holes that can be seen . I know the knight has fairings and don't know if used on a globe would you see a lot of those holes?

here's my globe on knight rails, the extra holes are not really visible, but i'm stretching the cab and putting aeromax skirts on

Ok cool I will keep my eyes out for those rails as well...I just need a stretch about the length of a king if I find knight rails for cheep i will grab them up...

Here is another globe project I have in the works.. Globe cab and frame into a set forward 1980's Mack cruiseliner. This is the real truck im trying to copy but with a little more bling.

I'm working on the front for now then will have to decide if I want to cut the back of the cab to get it looking closer to the real truck. On a cruiseliner The rear wal is slightly sloped forward starting from about the middle of the wall. I will be stretching this truck out as well to about a king frame length.

Well I snapped the stock driveshaft today. I guess thats normal When pulling 50lbs with it thru the grass.

So tonight I installed lights. they will just be on a switch powered off the battery.

I want to install some more "chicken" lights to the truck but need to find those neat led brackets you guys use....what are you guys using to mount your decritive LEDs to the body work.

Nice work with the lights! I don't think anyone has done a Mack Cruise Liner yet. It looks like you've got the modeling down pat. The new cab is definitely looking the part. Model railroaders seem to have a knack for working with styrene.

Something like these?



I got hold of some aluminium bar from a local place, cut, drilled, polished, and finished off with Lynns bezels.

Yes we do have a knack...working will anything small has its own challenge.
Glad I'm making an oddball truck cab. I enjoy seeing stuff built that is not commonly built.

Yup they're Lynns bezels. The ones for 3mm leds need a 5.1mm (#7 imperial drill bit) hole to sit in, and overlap a bit on the outside, so take up about 6mm space.

Those ebay ones are a 7.7mm hole, had a look at similar at a local electronics place, but end up using 9mm or more for a 3mm led. Pretty sure Lynn is going to be selling bezels again as of next month.

I did find some eBay black plastic bezels that have a thin OD I bought them to try out. Should see them this week.

Here are the trailer lights I installed today.



6 each side and 6 on the rear , I put a servo plug outlet on the nose for the trailer connection. Lights are installed in bezels found on eBay. Next I will be adding some lights to the rear wall of the cab and maybe a few decretive loghts along the cab bottom.
