Mercedes SK Fire Pumper "A normal german Firetruck"
Hi Folks.
I show in the "Welcome new Members" Thread some of my Models and some Users would like to read a little Blog about the building time. So i started here. I hope you can understand my English... The real 1:1 Firetruck that i reconstructed is a Truck of my Fire Brigade. Its startet with this Tamiya Mercedes Benz SK1818 and an old second Cab. The first Step was the Roof and the second Cab. I singed the roof 5mm and put the second Cap behind the First. Then i build the Ground of the Equipment-Case (is it the right Name?)

Re: Mercedes SK Fire Pumper "A normal german Firetruck"
In Contrast to the original Truck get the Model a Watercanon. But i cant´t find a working Canon to buy. So i make a own One. Its a 7mm Pipe, a 3mm Pipe with 1mm diameter and a hosepipe from a Infusion.
I move the Cacon with a regular Servo. klick Here can you see the Pump, too. She carries 1,8 Litres in a Minute. klick Importend for a Firetruck... The blue Lights I use three rotating Lights from Pistenking. here is a small Video from the Lights: klick

It goes on..
The Interior. I make two Pics outside the Cab an then i forget to make more Pics.. I have only these.. But not in a good Quality In the rear Door i can change between a Tank an an extern Hydrant or something else. I realised it with accessories from Infusions. The Tank is for 250ml Water. It is sufficient for 20 seconds. Video

Next Step..
The Backlights. They´re from Veroma and Lego. The Roof: Its a 0,5mm Polystyrolplate... It was a bad Idea, because it was to thin... It looks good for the first time... Then breakes.. I changed it meanwhile to a Aluminiumroof.

Re: Mercedes SK Fire Pumper "A normal german Firetruck"
wow..thats very nice, but id like a lesson in German Fire fighting, the rear mounted hose reel,is that dismounted at a fire and pulled by hand to the hydrant?or from the engine to a second engine or the fire scene itself?..
where i worked,we had the supply line hoses (normally two and a half inch, cotton jacketed canvas hose) loaded on the truck bed above the tank, with equipment compartments on the rear and sides of the body,we lay the supply lines from the hydrant to the fire,or if 3rd or 4th in to the call,we then lay from the engines at scene back to a hydrant.i hope that makes sence...id just like to know more about that reel with the wheels. |
