Any luck on finding the sliding teflon tape, or does it look smooth enough you might not want some?
I did not even saw those burrs before I looked at those macro shots

Yes, I got two different thicknesses of teflon tape.

If you search Ebay with "PTFE Adhesive Tape" you should find some

Got it thank you .!!! I was looking for Teflon tape and got all kind of weird hits....didn't think about PTFE...We used it in the military years ago to insulate lighthouse tubes(I know old technology ) ...wanted to put it inside my screw drives....

Glad you found a source for some tape, otherwise i was going to have to ask how much you needed and hope shipping to finland wasn't too crazy.

Keep up the killer work!

Here's a picture of how I placed the ptfe tape (those brown pads on the brass angles).
The second picture is just a closeup of the welds.

I have continued welding parts permanently together, there's still lots of seams to weld

Wow, you are doing very well with your Lampert welder. I picked up an Orion welder last year. No time for the models but fixed some of my wife's cheap thin steel lawn ornaments.

Amazing work Hemi!

How will you sequence the hydraulics to extend in the correct order? Will you make a series of sequencing valves?

I'm trying to go without any sequencing valves, and hope that the order the oil goes to cylinders, will extend them starting from the first/largest extension.
The plumbing is going to be difficult enough already in this way

If it does decide it needs help to sequence the segments correctly, you could probably make it work some little plates with a 'metered orifice' installed at hose connections, or making a 'calibrated crimp' in a hard line.

That's some pretty micro welding. I wish i were that good at full size.

I test fitted the crane to my old Tamiya based dump truck to see how it fits
One thing for sure, it's going to need some serious support legs to keep the truck upright

I've been machining some smaller parts for the extension cylinders. (The squares on the paper are 5x5 mm.)
