The weird thing is UPS will collect the funds of duty & taxes at the time of delivery and only accept the cashier check. As FedEx, they will bill you later which is nicer

I have a ScaleArt shipment coming into the US later this year. Can you elaborate on the duty and taxes? There should not be any duty (the invoice shows: "Tax free supply according to Section 4 Abs. 1a USTG") - toys do not have duty in the US and other countries.
As far as sales tax, you're not supposed to pay sales tax for goods coming in from outside the US.

Are you referring to customs brokerage fees, not tax or duty?

You won't pay the 19%VAT (value added tax) that ppl in Europe do, but there might be state and/or federal tax, plus if UPS or FedEx get's their hands on it, they have their own bullshyt fees they like to tack on... you'll find out for sure when it arrives.
