well the wedico gods are frowning on me now away with the wedico chassis in with the tamiya chassis going single speed on this 1 . I started on the hood . I think this will fit right at home with the rest of the tamiyas with the hood remade .

Great progress Steve! The Wedico gods have to feel a little happy with that awesome fab work! I saw the first few pics and thought, "Ugh, another Wedico...", but you have delivered something completely new, once again! Good work buddy, keep it up!

When I see Wedico I think thank God, not another plastic Tamiya, I guess that's what makes the world go around.

I like how you are doing something very different Steve, keep it going.

thanks guys , Craig the wedico flaws : 1st) out of proportion except for the cab it self . It "seems" to me the scale is all over the place . the cab matches the tamiya king hauler cab in dimensions virtually perfect . 2nd ) price , you pay a lot for what you get . 3rd) mods are not as easy like the poly bodies of the tamiya ( you screw a tamy body up your out at most $50.00 . OTOH you screw a wedi up your out But as the ol adage goes " to each his own " Me , I hammered metals from the 1st time I could hold a "hammer" (not a watch makers 1 either ) I rebuilt a ton of old IH cabs . them panels you just can't get off the shelf . nuff about wedico verses tamiya this truck was supposed to be a runabout **** hauler now it's turning into a shinny **** hauler I'm even gona count rivets After passing a pete 379 sittin for sale all week I realized I screwed up on the hood well all fixed now with the sides on

some comparison pics with the king hauler

thanks for lookin

Nice work, Steve. I tend to think of the Wedico build threads as far and few between. There just aren't many of them around, so when I see a thread with one, I always check it out. Tamiyas out number these crappy Wedicos by 1,000 to 1! Anyway, the hood looks good. I like how you built it out of three pieces, and the seams are real. Is that one of Brian's grilles up front? I really don't know what scale the Wedicos measure out to be. I believe them to be about 1/15 scale, rather then the 1/16 scale that Wedico sells them as. I guess it's so close, it could pass for 1/15 or 1/14 scale. I'm really interested to see how this turns out! It will be interesting to watch. Love the breathers....hint hint.

They are working well! They might end up on a different truck. I have something in the works....

The tank ends look great, Steve. Guess we'll have another update on this one in about 6 months? You don't have to follow my lead, when building one of these Wedicos....well make that Wedico/Tamiya hybrid!

Steve if the hood is the same dimensions why didn't you use a tamiya hood or you could have used some LAB METAL to lengthen the hood and put in the side grooves. I believe the hood takes 20 rivets oh a 379 each side of the hood lengthwise. Ed
