Re: New member from Dorset UK
Hi, frizzen.
Thanks for your kind words and welcome. I have had a look at the forum Military and Boat sections some very nice models on there and I will post photos of some of mine. That is, first locate them! Photobucket (********) hi-jacked them and wanted far too much to re-instate them but I will find another way around that one. I'm just getting into Model Trucks, (just the one) so not up with the events or shows featuring them yet. I was exhibiting at a Model Boat show in June where I saw a number of Trucks on several other club stands, some were later running around the showground, they looked great, I thought let's have a go at this one Perhaps I will look further into the Truck events next year when I have my Truck up and running I live in Bournemouth and set myself a 25 mile radius for partaking or visiting shows. My problem is the early starts & late finish plus long distance driving. Right now building my first one as in my intro, it's Tamiya's, Mercedes Actros 6x4. I am adding the MFC-03 to give it the bells & whistles. So will be asking questions. |

Re: New member from Dorset UK
Hi, Rvjimd.
Thanks for your welcome. Photos of my models, yes when I get to them. I will check out the forum procedure for posting photos then hopefully all systems are go. Whats your flavour of Boats? Or do you want anything I (we) built? My model boats, I mainly scratch build, scale up from line drawings and photographs. Tugs, in my early days: - Tug towing and Scale steering comps. Age, eyesight, and Health stopped that. R/c WW2 landing craft 1/35th & 1/16th scales. (to carry my military models). The period I’m interested in is late WW2, in particular, 1944 mostly around the D-Day landings: - Armour, and Vehicles 1/35th are static. The 1/16th is restricted to LCM types to carry my R/c Sherman's. |

Re: New member from Dorset UK
Hi, Hostile.
Thank you for the kind words and welcome. Yes, we had an amazing time, she was very competitive no quarter given or expected. No cheating just a very thin line! I didn't like being drawn against her I had to work very hard, we were very evenly matched so it was, win some lose some but always a good comp. So now trying Trucks (just the one). I also bought a 3D printer learning another new skill which will hopefully come in useful when I build a trailer and load for my Truck. I know it has come good for some of my military modelling just starting but pleased so far. |
