Nice start but if I may make a suggestion get rid of the pop rivets and get some screws and nuts maybe 2 or 3mm. It will make it easier if you have to take it apart later and will also add to the eye appeal.

Default At last my order arrived...

Hey guys, today i received my PMD order (see the pictures).

But i have some questions and maybe some off you can give me a help.

First, the axels are to small, i need to make them bigger, any ideias (or some thread about it?)?

Second, its suposse the tires go inside in the axel? dont they supose to stay always in the end of the axel?

Unfortunatel, i leaving for holliday´s and just return in a week, so the work will stop....

Happy Easter guys.

Default Re: My first try to build a trailer...

to lengthen the axels you have a few options.
1 - cut the tubes in half. Thread the internal of each half. Use all thread and cut lengths. thread into the tube & adjust to right length. And lastely use a slightly larger brass tube to slide over top to cover up the thread section.

2 - buy longer sections of tube from PMD - he can special order nearly any length - they take a little while to come in as he buys them pre made.

3 buy more standard length axels, which PMD ussually has on hand, and cut and splice as before but without the brass tube. A little easire to use a long set screw rather than messing with the all thread.

as for the wheels - Wedico expects the plastic half cups that attach the leaf springs to ride against the inside of the hubs. If you need to make a spacer of some plastic or brass tube to match what you want.

Hope this helps
Izzy
