Default Trucks dad has driven over the years

This is what my dad use to drive a few years ago, Peterbilt 379 with 72 inch bunk, it has 600 horse cat c16, was my favourite trucks and still is. it has got a fridge, microwave, tv and it also has got a one piece windscreen which is the only one that i have ever seen in a pete, is it rare?, dad put the drop visor and stainless on top of the bunk along with a few little pieces.

The dodge was his "work ute" when he was workshop manager, the pete was the first of his conversions and is #395 of the 1000 legacy's made, was a big job converting one from left to right, had to move all of the hoses and wires to one side, has now got a wood floor in it, i use to go down to the workshop and watched and learned what you had to do , seemed like a simple job to me , the towtruck was the second conversion he had going, moved the exhausts from the back of the bunk to the cab,

now, for some aussie trucks, this is another of my favourites, kenworth 501 had the big 8 inch sports mufflers and you could hear it from a mile away, wasnt the best bunk wise but i didnt have to sleep in it, it usually had bulk tippers hooked up to it and occasionally did the trip over to perth pulling two trailers either a b double or road train, the white 908 was on tippers and went where the load took it, he was home every weekend and we would spend almost 3 hours washing and polishing it, no matter how dirty it was it always got a bath at least once every two weeks

now this had some serious power, 8 inch sports mufflers, pittsburgh power and well was lit up like a christmas tree, this was also on tippers and literally went every where, mainly the lower part of australia,

dash was moulded out of fibreglass, the one in the pic of the Legacy was supplied by truckworks as we paid for the freight on the Miller wrecker on the tow truck and they were agents for it, it's basically a Kent dash re-done, pretty good job too but we used to trial fit 10 times before we sent them out to be covered, this was a real problem as it came already covered, to cut and shut it was a *****, everything had to be masked twice, the conversions were 3 steps back 1 step forward, took around 3 months as you built the ADR's into them as you went, thoroughly enjoyed it as it was pretty good work, l did have the 379 on standby to do a trip as well, had it pretty good till it went to ****

i got given a 69 Camaro half arsed done , it was a basket case, l handed it straight back it was that bad, l love my Chevs but it was bad, ended up with a 61 Caddy coupe and left it LHD under the 25 year rule, to ADR something now is a headache, truck wise, older cars arent that bad, for the Pete conversion there was a fair bit of work and research on everything as it had to comply, i enjoyed it immensly and being a VIC SIG was a good qualification to have, the fabrication alone was a challenge, I had Louie in the shop from the age of 12 doing stuff for me, he built that RC truck not long after, dont think many on here actually know how old he is
