Thanks. Yeah the guy I built it for is going to detail under the hood so maybe he'll get the smoke under control.

Thanks, yeah I suggested he go with another set of breathers to clean it up but he had them already.

Thanx, Big John
Thanks Big John. It's a set of Seuthe no. 5 smoke units that I wired through a Pico switch. As you can imagine I was running out of room inside the truck so I installed one in each stack, it allows access to fill them with the smoke fluid easier as well.

I filled them down to fit snugly in the stack.

Thanks Mike,

I'll post some pics of the hood hinge, I use brass flat plate 1/2" x 2" bent to 90degrees, solder a piece of 1/8" ID tube to it, drill and tap the bottom of the grille and mount the plate to the grille. Then I use two pieces of brass 1/4" x 1" with three holes drilled in them, mount the two pieces to the front spring hanger and then use a 2-1/2" piece of brass rod to slide thru all three pieces. The bottom of the grille needs to be notched a bit as well.

Great work with the tilting Hood, how close are the guards to the air cleaners when you tilt it? have you lengthened the bonnet?

cheers
Paul

Paul, the hood and breathers clear each other when tilting. The hood was not lengthened.

I think the difference must be the guards as I can not tilt the hood with the air cleaners on as the guards catch the bottom of them. My solution is to lengthen the Hood 20mm, this will make it more scale to the truck I am building anyway.

Cheers for the reply........ps: great trucks!
