Default My stretched Pete's brother 8x8 dumper

This is my first attempt at building a dump truck. I started with a King Hauler kit, stretched the frame, added a rear axle to make it a tri axle, made a day cab (twice) didn't like the first one, added a driven front axle and fabed a aluminum dump bed.

Cab mocked up

This is with the first cab
[IMG][/IMG]

The second cab

Painted to match his brother Pete

This is where I'm at now

Let me know what you think, I built a screw drive for it and am thinking of controlling it with a second speed control or a relay, any thoughts on which way is better?

Thanks

Thanks Aaron, still working on the tailgate locking part, for now I installed a magnetic strip that holds it shut untill the weight of the dirt pushes it open.

Nice looking dump truck! I really like the dump bed, looks good with the wooden boards on top. Let's see some fully loaded pics!

Thanks bigrigger, I should be finishing it in the next week. I need to decide how to operate the screw drive yet, I was going to use a second ESC so I could control the speed of the dump.

Very nice dump. That box is real nice! You say the measurements are off a bit..... is it a bit narrow?

Thanks Izzy, not sure if it's off. It's 7-3/8" wide x 15-1/4" long x 4-1/2" wide with out the boards.

Dims seem good to me. I like to hit a full 7-1/2 for trailers.... An easier number to design around.

Thanks for the info, I want to do a dump trailer next. Just finished your bottom dump and I can't tell you enough about the quality of your trailers.
