Thanks Benny and Kent! I'll give the Plastruct a try. The LHS didn't have it either but they can order it.
Interesting idea about making your own putty. I'll have to give that a shot too. How does it do for shrinkage? Always loved how easy the Squadron putty worked but the shrink was terrible.

I've not seen it shrink yet and I wouldn't think it would since all it is, is melted plastic and glue so when it dries it bonds into the parts and simply turns back to hard plastic. It's sands just like the plastic does. I found that if you get it a little heavy and it wants to run, if you blow on it, it will skin over and stop flowing. I have decided to let it set over night before sanding for the best results.
