I love that cab, excellent job so far. Keep it up. I'm sure a lot of guys here would love a chance at buying one of your cabs.

Ahh, thanks guys! I'm feeling good after those comments. I'm still not 100% satisfied with the results which are mainly due to my design. The hood in my opinion is too tall and the grill too wide, but shortening those dimensions results in changing the rest of the body as everything relates to something else. I'm not wanting to start from scratch again like I did for ver 1.2 as I'm so anxious to see something finished that resembles what I pictured in my head in the beginning so I'm gonna just continue to finish this cab. And the further i take each cab in the physical state, the more i learn what not to do mext time. I'd like to give it a few more tries before thinking about selling a body, and honestly I don't know what kind of price to put on something like this. The print time is still 25+ hrs. And there's a lot of pre/post print work involved too. If someone doesn't beat me to it, I may do something like that in the future after working out the design. What really need to do for the next project is take hard measurements of a 1:1 and convert to this scale. That will yield the best product. Ill have to get ahold of a few people to let me measure their trucks. Want to do a t800 next.
Thanks for the encouragement!

Few pics after getting the cab mounted to chassis and mock bumper and pipes to see what looks good. Hood still needs a hinge.

It's really something to see this cab, after printing. I think it looks great from all the angles. I know you think the hood is a little tall, but you don't even notice the height of the hood until you get a straight on side shot of it. From an angle, even if it's slight, you really can't tell. If you finish this cab off, I think it will look pretty awesome. Who knows, a set of breathers on the side might help pull the truck together.

So what the hoods a little tall. Guys still put those 1:16 cat motors in 2:14 trucks and they still look great. I bet if you paint this baby and put all your bolt on goodies on it, you'll never notice it.

Jammer, thanks

Izzy, Thanks. Its actually a few more hrs with all the little extras. Next truck will be easier having worked out alot of bugs this time. Heres a pic waiting for one of your Dump boxes. Cant wait till those are available! Thanks for replying.

Nate, Thanks and your right it looks good from most angles, its growing on me and im going to order some air cleaners and hood emblems from Rick soon. Those should tie it together. Thanks!

Oz, Brick..Thank you. Waiting on more parts. Once i have everything i need, ill finish up the body work and paint it. Thanks for the comments!

Heres what i got going on under the cab. R2 Trans mount, which the Speaker enclosure and cab mount to. I figured. Lets see how much speaker i can stuff in the cab for the best possible sound using the SMX im waiting on. Ive still got plenty of room under the hood for the rest of my Electronics. Although i do need to get a little creative there. The hinged hood will be nice and easy for access to the LiPo and ESC. The speaker faces forward so it will maybe be cool to hear it coming head on..Who knows, have to wait and see. Its all experimental. If you look you can see the speaker mounted behind the windshield in the previous pics. Its designed to use as much cab space as possible but not interfere with wiring for future lighting.

No body mentioned it or didnt catch it but the pass door doesnt have the lower door window..lol I didnt even realize it until after i was assembling this cab. When i redesigned it in CAD. I mirrored the driver side and forgot all about the little window. I thought that was so unique and here i never ended up with it. ...But i may cut one out before i finish. It was a late night that night..

If you still have the dimensions of the door on your computer mapped. I'd suggest just making the adjustment on the computer and reprinting the passenger door with the window. It should fit right onto the cab.

Just a thought.

I would just cut the window out. Should be easy. Mark where you need it to be, grab a small drill bit (like a #80 or so), and drill around the edge of the window frame. Make the holes close enough together so it takes minimal cutting with a hobby knife to finish it up. Cut from hole to hole, then just file or trim along the marked out window frame edge. Easy. Even for me, and I'm horrible with bodywork!

I've been watching it all come together. Amazing how technology continues to develop and become more affordable. Nice job and tough looking build so far.

Awesome build, really innovative! Just wondering, what are you going to do for windows? I've been wondering since you started. Really anxious to see this complete!
