Looking good Greg!

Going to try aluminum welding next?

What will be the reach at ground level with this hoe? For example, my JD850 has a reach of 1400mm.

Greg I read in your post that you use teflon for the track chain to slide on. Could you elaborate a bit. Are the rollers that show just the outside profile of a roller with the teflon mounted to the track frame?
Thanks
Terry

That is correct Terry, on the D8 those are just made to look like there are rollers, but it has teflon strips so that it keeps the track running smooth no clogging and aligned. The excavator has teflon as well, milled out for the chain width so that the chain runs inside, can't jump out of slot, no binding..

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Fred it was your great builds and you who recommended us. We are not in the same legue as you, so I hope they don't have any close up photo's... We have not seen or read the magazine as of yet, so I hope the information is close to correct.... The person writing the story was not sure the difference between a logging truck and a dump truck... hahah
Hey Joe I thought I would up size my excavator, I am in your legue now......

It has been 25 years since I operated excavators or hyd log loaders. It was wild, I rented this machine and had them switch the swing so it is the same as my models, they can do this with the flick of a switch. I got on the hoe and operated it like I was running my models, almost like a PRO ! LOL They are almost the same price as the models as well, $25 bucks per hour.... Sure can move a lot of dirt in a hour...

Reg Here is a update now that the rains have arrived and I will be spending less time in the construction area outside.
Rob and Lou were good sports and helped move and screen all the material I dug up with the hoe. I poored a cement pad, so there was alot of dirt to move.
In the attached video you can see how much dirt was screened.. Pretty much the whole pile.. The boys wanted union wages for there work, but I only pay with beer and soda's...
