Re: JBC limited NZ
I finally had a bit of spare time to play with the radio settings for the loader.
I've slowed the steering and bucket drop speed and it looks way better. next on the list is main drive acceleration. I want to slow that , but first I need to charge the battery again..... https://youtu.be/a1kDuEwNe7U |

Re: JBC limited NZ
I had a play with the hyd system in the excavator.
I pulled all the servos off the valves and centred them. man I wish I had done this years ago, so much better and easier to control, next on the list is to sort the slew motor, I have wear in the shaft and gear causing the wobbles when you stop the movement. heres a quick video of the before and after https://youtu.be/bLsvjFPvOsI |

Re: JBC limited NZ
Running great Andy. I can't imagine operating with a drifting boom, bet your happy that's gone.
The sloppy slew. Did you try to snug the motor pinion up to swing gear at all? I've got excessive slop also but notice there is some adjustment possible. Going to wait until winter shut down before dealing with it. And happy summer to ya! |

Re: JBC limited NZ
cheers Mario,
yes much happier with the operation. when I first got it I pulled it apart to see how it worked... guess I put it back together a little wonky and always had to issue to a small degree. I remembered reading something on this forum about centring the valves , gave it a go and discovered my mistake now it works great. the problem with the slew is a worn motor shaft, too much slop between shaft and gear. looks like the grub screw was always a little loose and scored the shaft, a new motor should fix the problem. Im on a quest at the moment to get a 1969 Plymouth road runner and may end up having to get on a plane and visit the US to view a few . Have a guy here who dose this for a job ( friend of a friend) but our low dollar is making things a little expensive Have been told by the Mrs that I cant load up the container with RC toys " your going for a car and that's all"..... not a hundred percent sure what she means by that but if any one can recommend a good model shop in or around Arizona I wont say anything.... cheers andy |

Re: JBC limited NZ
had a little play time so I had another go at the radio settings for the loader.
so far I have dropped the steering speed by 50% bucket drop also set at 50% and main drive motor max speed is at 40% in reverse and 50% forward. I could have just used the switch on the radio to lock the diffs and slow it down but I figured leaving it unlocked it would place less stress on the axels . pretty happy with how this loader is working now, just that dam noisy pump.... https://youtu.be/RNuLJd2LVuo cheers andy |

Re: JBC limited NZ
I had the beier sound card sitting on desk for a while and I want to get the hydraulic fluid sound thing happening when the rams move and also a few more realistic sounds happening.
also, I stole the sound card out of the excavator for my KH dump truck build. I need to spend a bit of time trying to work out how Im going to do it , but I have a plan... just need to find the time. cheers andy |

Re: JBC limited NZ
Looks good Andy, and keep those outside pics and videos coming, you are heading into summer and I'm watching the leaves drop for winter. So it will be nice to see some sun and green with your equipment working

Re: JBC limited NZ
still waiting on paint to dry on the arms, so I used up the original decal sheet that came with the excavator.
Young fella likes it so that will do me. crammed the esc's into the front of the excavator , mounted pump and valves. still have a little room to play with but will have to make a new tank as its slightly too high and cant close engine cover. I also sprayed the tracks with a light coat of a scoria colour to try and get a rusty look..... dosent look too bad. cheers andy |
