Default Tx info and insight needed

I have recently aquired a MFU unit and it is my understanding they dont play well with the newer 2.4 radios,Futaba in peticular. Well, dang, that is what my main Tx is...

So, I have tha chance to pick up this older model am stick radio new in box. futaba FP-7FGE

Problem is I can find zero info on it thru the google searches I have performed(images, everything, and shopping) Along with a search here and on e-bay. Is it that old ?

Anybody have some insight as to what this thing is and if it will work with the Tamiya MFU unit.

Thanks

Devlin

Send a pm to rc farmer. He is the Wizard of radios. He helped a good deal of us including me with the MFU and 2.4 radios.

Futaba web site has the information. If this is the radio, I wouild avoid it; unless the seller has proof that it meets the FCC narrow band RC standards from 1991. Wide band radios became obsolete in 1998. The manual references having an FCC class "C" License (CB/RC from the 1960's -70's); and lists only 5 channels on 27 MHz; and 7 channels on 72/75 MHz.

Found this about a Futaba FP-7FG/K, it might apply to your question about the FP-7FGE. Some more info from Futaba.

Thank you, that answers some questions and brings up more... I believe I will pass on this radio and continue searching for a suitable alternative.
