Default Extended Flatbed Trailer Build

What I have so far. I will have the deck finished hopefully by the Brookville meet. I'm kinda at a stand still. But this is what i got so far. I'm mostly waiting on more LED's to finish the trailer. I got a few other things to do before hand and then I'll just finish the deck.

thanks for looking and make sure to check back for the finish.

Looks nice. Can't really tell it's a custom length trailer. The rails look factory.

Q's - are those aluminum rails down the middle and over the framing? if so that's a nice look. And The one piecew rails look good - are they formed or cut from extrusion stock?

Unfortunately I can't make the pictures look any better so you see the difference. I took a bunch more pictures just for you. Maybe this will help. I have pictures of stock Rails and of a stock Tamiya Flatbed. But if you really wanna see for yourself I will have everything at the Brookville meet in March. Thanks, John.

Thanks, John.

Stock Rails.

Hope you like the pictures. I was gonna wait to do the lights. But I remembered that the piece down the middle can be removed for access. Thanks for taking the time to look.

Thank Chris. Aluminum down the middle and there is two on the outter edges. Aluminum rails on the side are 1/2" L Aluminum. Chassis Rails are from 1 1/2" L aluminum cut out with Plasma cutter. Hope that answers your questions.

Thanks. I never realized the amount of time and planning it takes to build a trailer of this size. But I'm getting better with each one.

Hey man this trailer looks good, especially the aluminum inserts in the deck. Looks like a 1:1 with that little added touch. If an when you are approved as a vendor this is something I really need, you got my order.

Looks great with all the planking on! I like that you kept the center of the bed metal. Most guys plank the whole thing. Cheers.

A further question - is the wood planks the same Tamiya ones? did you inter lace the ends? Or did you find a more suitable substitute?

Thanks

Wood is same as Tamiya. I have used a harder wood for a hobby store near me but I used what I had. Inter lace the ends? I don't understand what you mean there. Thanks for the inquire.

"Inter lace the ends?"

John , he means not have all your butt joints in line with each other .

interlaced much like your flooring the truck is sitting on

Thanks Steve.

Yes they are inter laced. Two long ones from front, then long ones from back then I fill in the gaps. Just like hard wood flooring. I'm not sure if it looks ok or not but it was the best I could think of to go with the Aluminum as planks too.
