Re: RCP Compound
There's a brand new 988K in the shop right now ! I can take pics for ya or,
If you want to build something more old school ( of course you do ) I can get pics of them to The new K model looks pretty sharp though http://www.cat.com/en_US/products/ne.../18438276.html |

Re: RCP Compound
I was thinking something like this http://allcarsnewz.com/photo/im/cate...01/default.htm
A new one would be cool too it just wouldn't match my trucks all that well. If I went new I would probably do a 980 because that would be a more common size to see in a dryland sorting logs. I love pictures! |

I've worked on this very machine many, many times. It came to our shop and was completely rebuilt every 20,000 hrs. 3 times! had over 80,000 hrs on it when they retired it. 60cuyd chip bucket. Actually had steel rollers on the back edge of bucket and always ran on the concrete pad chip pile area. The inside of that bucket was as shiny and polished as Chrome! |

Re: RCP Compound
Oops....I see I may have opened a can of worms on you Reg, now everyone will be suggesting what you should build next....my turn....I have to agree with you about having a loader, watching your vids with you using the small loader looks like fun, a larger version would be able to do a bit more "work" if you can use the words work and RC in the same sentence. I would vote for a big loader with a high lift......we should both build one at the same time, same machine two different scales....oh but it has to be big enough to load a 777

Re: RCP Compound
Haha, I've been called "old balls" before but never "old fart". Not sure which is worse but the first one happened during an interesting point in my life.lol
The outfit that had the 1-1 KW850 I modeled had a 966A with rear steer. Pretty cool old rig and I would like to build one if it weren't so small. |

WOW! That's a nice piece of tail right there! Good thing I haven't been on any 30 day trips for a number of years. I may never come back after landing that!

Re: RCP Compound
That loader and squirrel are awesome!
Keeping myself in check, I took a break from building and played with this thing for a bit while I fed some mosquitoes. It's actually a lot of fun for a light weight toy. I can see why people convert these things. https://youtu.be/ceTs-Wq6xJY |
