Default MorePower Hydraulic

I received my morepower hydraulic pump and valves yesterday.

Two nipples broke off, but i was able to drill them out

All out..time to drill and tap for 5mm nipples

I drilled and tapped both sides of the block. It can with only one side tapped.

Be sure and remove the valves before you drill or tap the body, clean out all the metal and then reseat the valves in the same holes as they were removed....set them with lubricate too so as not to scratch the seals...use thread locker on all the nipples

You may need to put some thread locker on these 2.5mm set screws as well

Works really good this setup

Im glad that you got this figured out. I heard the morpower pump and valves are nice. What kind of pressure you think it will do and what ml volume is it?

I have been dealing with more power for over a year. The pump is strong, be cautious with your pressures as I have split lines. The nipples are weak at the transition point from m3 to instillation nut. Have broken many. They are good at replacing things if you ask. I am a Canadian dealer for them. But most cases it is still cheaper to deal direct as I get no different deal at this time. I will be running their system in most all of my future builds. Happy building!

Chris, i don't kow the pressure yet, still need to get a gauge. I also ordered a PRV from rc4wd as i think the one that came with the excavator is bad. I talked to Steve yesterday....i disconnected everything from that PRV and could not blow any air thru it. The reed stem, which is cone-shape with a rod surrounded by a spring sticks so tight in the opening, i had to jam a screwdriver into the outlet to free it.....that what was causing the pressure to burst line when we did hook it up correct.

I have seen these pumps modified to accept brushless motors as well, i will figure that out

Oh yeah, they ship fast too. less than 10 days from order to doorstep

Success!, I think i have figured out the hydraulics. Here is a quick video of the setup. I would highly advise that anyone who has the Morpower block to pressures test all the fittins and replace all the 3mm set screws before installing in your machine. I have replaced 5 of them that was leaking with 3mm caphead screws.....no more leaks.

That is a Morpower valve block. I bought that pump as an extra when i bought the setup. The original pump is a 540type brushed. I am going to replumb everything once in the excav. I am also going to use a different type tank.

Also, those servos are junk. The kill the rcv'r if more than two are plugged in, Steve said to use Hitec 85mg which i will p/u on monday.

What pressure can it be operated with? Leakage issues?

I was just wondering if you used the RC4WD style pump because you didn't like the Morepower one or???? I almost ordered a pump from them a while back but chickened out. Just wondering what your thoughts were on it compared to the RC4WD pump? I would like to buy a pump for my log skidder and it needs a fair amount of volume.

I hope to have a pressure gauge of some sort in the very near future, then i can get some accurate readings of pressure.

That's great, will look forward for some real life test results) I notice it is written 30 bar / 435 psi as max pressure at their homepage. Looks better engineered than the chineese crap...but never know before tests has been done..
