Trying to keep the building sizes reasonable and not tie up all kinds of square footage in the yard. I'm thinking of another shop near the screening plant for the loader and dozer if this works out ok. |

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Another feature I've come up with for the garage is functional doors!
Was looking at this plastic board and thought, if I slice along each rib this stuff will roll up nicely which made me come up with this so far.... |

Funny you say that Joe. I just so happen to have been collecting some stuff for Windows that could also work for roof panels.

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Thanks guys, I just used the drill for demo purpose. Once the garage is assembled I'm just going to drill a hole in the side wall so I can use a screwdriver to roll the door up. Or maybe a little hand crank.
To close just have to pull it down by hand. The main reason for the doors is to try and keep leaves, squirrels and anything else out of the garage when not in use. I could easily get carried away and install a servo to run the door with switches to activate when you pull up but I keep reminding myself to keep things simple and full time outdoor friendly........ Manual operation is fine with me. |

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
RW can bring him if he wants. He can stay in the garage probably not a good idea though, mr nutters would get his *ss kicked by the big black squirrels that rule the backyard.

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
The doors are done and working. 99 freehand cuts in each door but well worth the effort. The plastic doors work great.
Now, on to the exterior work next. |

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
Thanks guys.
I finally got all the things I wanted done before putting this together and it's finally starting to take a more permanent shape. http://youtu.be/x2OxVkitIXo I'm glad the house wrap works because it turns out this corrugated plastic stuff is not easy to make clean accurate measurement cuts and it helps cover the mess in the corners. . Never the carpenter, always the material right? So now that I've learned from that, I have a new idea on how to build with this stuff. Next building will have one seam. And all walls in one continuous piece. here's what I'm thinking......... |

Tree rat.... I'm anxious for next summer. Things are going to look a lot different next spring. I want to make a little neighbourhood. I've owned 3 houses in my life so want to build scale versions of them and my parents house I grew up in. Of course a Tim Hortons coffee shop and whatever else comes to mind. |

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!
I think you should create a "gentleman's" club in your town. It could be called "The Fuzzy Wall". Sounds like an interesting place to me.
Lou is right, we have no hope of catching fire like you guys out east. We just don't have the group of hardcore guys out here. Keep pushing forward Mario. I am looking forward to all the videos and pictures that won't get taken at your meet in 16.lol I know you will all be having too much fun to touch a camera! |

Not to worry about pics and videos. As a precautionary measure, there'll be a reporter with camera and a local online video news reporter. As the mayor of my RC town I say "no building or electrical permits are required!" ...and that's a good thing. |
