Boy! she's in nice shape for a 79. What kind of numbers are on the odometer? Bet it's been around a couple of times. The long wheel base COE tractors are my favourite.

Re: '79 freightliner cab over coe "the truck it all started with"
Thnaks...one of the ol man's prides. She has at least 1.5 million miles on her. Been pampered quite a bit over the years with new parts so she doesn't have all the originals. My father is a horse power freak and hates being passed on the hill so he had a cummins n14 built up to put out 650 horse and dropped it there. The original tranny was a 13 speed and he changed it to an 18 speed and the rearends couldn't hold up to the power so we put bigger ones in also. She' not only drivable but workable on a day to day basis

I forgot to ask what the short stack on the passenger side is for, is it a Janitrol heater.

Re: '79 freightliner cab over coe "the truck it all started with"
This truck use to be a single stack truck. We wanted to make it dual but the cab was recessed for the stack to enable you to have more room for over hang or what not. To fill the void we had a stainless tube tank made. You can put what ever your enjoyment in refreshment is...lol

Wow, she's in such nice shape, I think what you have there is a working class show truck. Love the sticker on the cab. 'Cummins Power' says it all. I love that you are sharing all these photos. I'm big into the heavy hauling trucks and equipment. Very nice.

650HP?! What a ride that be! I understand now why the fuel tanks are so large, 200ga a side? What's it get, 2 or 3mpg?

Re: '79 freightliner cab over coe "the truck it all started with"
She sits in the barn for the most part now days. The reason our trucks are so long is so we can take a lot of over hang in the front which is good for hauling long rebar, concrete piling, steel pipe and such. Thanks for the compliment!
