Default Newb from CT.

Hello all!!

Just gettin my feet wet with the rig scene, been around R/C most of my life but have always been running circles!(oval racer). Now I have become interested in these real nice trucks!
I have had a very small collection ...... starting ..
A Knight w/alum. around and the MFU.
Tamiya's flat bed w/light kit & legs.
A Globetrotter FH12 stock except bearings
A MAN TGX
A Tamiya 3-axle Reefer trailer

I am, now starting my 1st "custom" build, a R620 Scania stretched to 30" with 3 axle, single steer car hauler deck. Using Freddy for the rails and some other goodies, RC4WD for winch & drive shaft, trying to come up with a suitable lift system for the deck??? And some Knight Hauler tanks/boxes & running boards to fill in all the open space. I picked up a set of the wide fronts and a bunch of other goodies.
Now for most of ya this is no big deal, and you all have prob. seen this build b4? But being the 1st real 1 for me, I figured baby-steps was a good way to start...?
So as soon as the rails R done from Freddy then I will start mocking up all this mess and then maybe even post a pic. or 2 of my maiden build??

I am learning as I go so if any of U wanna interject, PLEASE do!!

I would appreciate the help/advise!!

-Mike

Hey Mike you still made it in time, I even still got an hour to call my birthday lol. Anyways thanks for the birthday wish and I hope to many ppl didn't take you wrong. You're a pretty good stand up guy it seems like I just kinda read it as a mistake on words as well. All is good on this end and still can't wait to see your projects come along.

True....

I never saw it that way until it was brought up.

MY fault......
(feelin pretty crappy about it....)

... I have all the necessary parts packaged up now and their going out to Freddy on Mon. He is going to make my rails and correct my faulty 3rd drive axle and hopefully I can get him to build a few goodies too!! There is some things that just can't be taught right now.... when Freddy is done and I get it back then I will re-mock everything and get you your dimensions you need for the lift system. Thanks a lot and I really appreciate everything!

Guy's, got a question for ya:

During my wait for parts I have been looking for a paint scheme for the rig. Wile searching I came across this beauty!

http://www.classytrucks.org/Scania.2...L.580.002.html

My question is has anyone seen a roof top like this and the light rack? That is real cool! Is it availabe/manufactuered? Or would this need to be a scratch build?(out of my realm!!)
I don't even know what it is called so I can't google it??

Thank you for any help...

-Mike

This is not part of anything I was thinking of doing, but I thought it was super cool and wanted to share it with you all. Found it while searching paint schemes/colors.

Honestly was looking for something different, but I REALLY like the Black Amber Special Edition I found... ???????? ..Huh, what to do....?

I know it is super easy but the color "grabs" me....

Mike here is the roof. http://www.verkerk-modelbouw.nl/inde...n/Page1237.htm

As for the lights, I am sure this place has them but you will need to look for them (by checking every link if you don't read German) http://www.fechtner-modellbau.de/shop/
