Default SW K100

I am epically slow builder. This project mostly sits in boxes, rather than on the workbench.

Nothing special about the chassis. Not sure I like the 4:1 so it will probably go in favor of pinion reduction.

First order of business was to get headlights. My K100 is later model, lets say 1992.

Next was the axle and lower cab "wheelwell"

I need some more clearance on the wheel so may have re-bend the spring a bit more or add spacer.

Filling the rear panel:

I think I may redo the rear cutout. One problem is I think its a little low. And second I bought a set of S&P sweet pipes that are so big they won't fit/hide under the short side skirts. The entire bottom edge may have to move up 1/4" or so. Not sure how I'm going to solve that one.

Starting work on the side:

Not much progress for the two years I've had it.

That looks good to me! I like seeing more and more of these Globeliners converted to KWs. I'd say you're no slower of a builder then I am. I've been working on the same truck for way to long. Is it five years now? Ugh. But not steady. That's my excuse.

Thank for the nice comments.

I decided I don't like the tamiya floor:

Still have to cut room for the transmission and no idea where I'm going to put the battery.

Snug fit in the cab:

Then while watching GB lose I cut out the driver's door:

Looking good there, I like the new floor and you did a great job cutting the door out. How do you plan on hinging the door?

Well your going to have to suck it up, turn in your man card and go look in the doll house section of the craft shops. In all honesty a guy at work built his daughter a doll house and it is amazing the stuff they have to build them with.

I already get Miniatures catalog (I think Micromark sold my info) and there's a dollhouse construction supply not far from my house, but they don't have piano hinges.

Hinges are a pain in the a&@, I made a set using 1/16 brass rod and 5/64 tube on mine, I just couldn't figure out an access problem for my pin. So after a suggestion by ihbuilder, I ended ip with 2 small 3/4 inch brass hinges from the hardware store stacked, take a look at my pete thread or ihbuilders to see if that would work for you.
Love the way the truck is looking
Tim
