Talking 379ex Hood Tri Axle Pete

Well while I was in Indy I fell head over heals for a rig and when I found out it was for sale I had to have it! Thanks ED.

now I am not going to change much on this truck I will be putting a cat under the hood and putting low pros on the lift axle but other than that I am just going to redo the side of the hood so it is all one piece and that way it will also have the 1 inch ext in front of the steps so I can put lights in that spot to. I will also do super singles on the front I picked up some other parts from Ric and I ordered RC4WD punisher drive shaft for this truck and the hay hauler today you can get them in any lenght you just have to ask.

So the list looks like this

55 Turn 6 tooth pnion
GD600 gear reduction
MFU
PMD blank with lights
robbe low pro tires
cat die cast motor and rad under the hood
hidden servo for 5th wheel
custom rear light bar
Super singles
PMD blank with lights
RC4WD punisher drive shaft
And lots of LEDs.

and a few other odds and ends.

Well I am getting things together to build the Blue Heavy Hauler Pete and with not much room in the body I needed to make the gear box more compact as so to fit the Diecast Cat motor and the 3 speed tranny.

I took a 2:1 gear reduction and mount it backwards on the tranny this way I have it as compact as I can and also get more gear reduction and also you can change up the gearing by changing up the gears in the reduction.

Much Smaller than the Highlift

Well today I got some more on the Heavy hauler Pete done. I got both sides of the hood filled in and started building the new frame to set the Cat motor in and also fitted my EBH rims on the hole rig. These have to be the coolest rims I have ever had and do they weight a ton they really add some good weight to a rig.

Well I tore into My Tri-Axle Pete this week and got a lot done. I have tore it down and made new 29 Inch long frame rails, moved somethings around and added a Die cast Cat c-15 motor relocated the steering servo and shifting servo and used my Rev mounted 2:1 gear reduction 3 speed tranny so it would fit in the cab and leave me room in the rest of the cab and sleeper for the sound unite battery and radio gear. I still have to mock up the shifting servo and lift axle servo and steps also the rear deck plate and 5th wheel, 2 RC4WD punisher drive shafts with carrier bearing. More to come the next few days I am going to try to tear it down for paint by net weekend..

Well pulled this one back off the shelf for a little update got a full set of Jon's fenders. The pusher axle fenders are just sitting on the barcket right now so they are not perfect but here is a shot and a pick of the brass bracket on the pusher.

Bracket

I forgot to a pick of the way I mounted the fenders over the drives Ill get a pick of that when I pull them off for paint tomorrow night..

Thanks Russ, Alfy and Cory for the great comments..LOL..

Here are the picks of how I mounted them to the truck..

Now pretty simple I just replaced the shock mount screws with long screws then I cut the heads off and then alum tubing fused to the insides of the fenders they slide on nice and snug.

Then as you can see the bracket I made up out of brass that is bolted to the stock mount on the lift axle..

Ok here are the painted and finished picks since the last up date a year ago I made brass CB whips and put steves wheels all the way around also made a cover for the MFU controls that is held on viva a magnet.. Might do a custom rear light bar and might change the front bumper but I will be changing out the PMD air cleaners for a set of Steve killer Vortecks in black.. So a little mo0re to come..

Paul those fenders look amazing painted. I really can't wait for my body to get here from Jon, it's gonna be all black similar to this and I think I will now need a set of his fenders to go along with the rest of the truck. Thanks for making me spend more money!!!
