Classic Paint designs of the 1970's
Hey guys I came across this amazing thread on a model truck forum that had a bunch of paint schemes along with the color schemes from a bunch of the big manufacturers from the 1970's. So once I saw this I knew I had to show my brothers in R/C over here at RCT&E.COM. So here you guys go..
Kenworth schemes for the K100 . The W900 series paint schemes. . Peterbilt 359 paint schemes and color combos . Freightliner paint schemes . GMC color and paint schemes . Mack cabover color and paint schemes I will be adding more, feel free to add to this if you'd like. I just figured maybe this would help some of the guys pick a paint scheme for there build. Hope this helps. |

Re: Classic Paint designs of the 1970's
It's amazing the array of paint schemes that were available back then. I don't think there are nearly so many choices today, but I could be wrong. Stripes were pretty popular in the '70s era. Some of those old paint schemes look great on the new trucks, when the right colors are choosen!

The 70's were good years for classic paint jobs. Not like the boring faded red and white trucks of today.

Re: Classic Paint designs of the 1970's
Thanks for posting these! It's good to see what was available and the options that were there. Some of them are nice, some of them a bit questionable. I like more of the Freightliner COE designs than the K100's. I have a pretty cool one in mind for my globe build which isn't too far off the ones above!
I love the classics

Re: Classic Paint designs of the 1970's
in the Freightliner COE pics, the "Oxnard 52094" paint is the same that my neighbor had on his truck,he wasnt an owner operator,he drove for a large electrical company, but when they upgraded his mount,he chose the Freightliner COE.before that he was driving a Mack B-60 short wheel base ten wheeler,it was "Candy apple red" and was painted by Joe Bailion himself!!,Berts wife Refina, grew up next door to Bailion when they were kids here in Placer County Ca.Joe is still alive but is deep in Alzheimer's.pretty sad.
