Default Wedico 345D?

Just been wondering if the Wedico cat 345D is a decent model or not? Believe me, I'm well aware of Wedico and some of their flaws but seems like this model doesn't get much attention and just wondered why, it sure looks nice. The 966G seems to be pretty popular.

I believe it is a decent model. I have a Cat345 from Wedico and it works fine.

Out of the box it need some mods.
To get better performance you need the chains for driving instead of the belts. The brushless motor gives better digging and faster speed.
I have done these mods and it is better.

I know, it's an old thread, brought back up, but about how much more money does one have to throw at it, in order to get it operating better?

I agree that the belt is not a good resolution. I have converted to the chain drive as well which cost about $120,-. Brush less motor is something to consider but not necessary right away. I thinking about to convert to brush less motor but have not done this move yet. Full speed of the motor will shorten the life of the pump. In regards from Leimbach you should run the brush less motor no more then 8000 rpm. The cost for the leimbach brush less motor with controller is about $265,-. I hope the link will work.
