Hey guys and gals! I was wondering if anybody can help me to get the rcbrmin 3T sound system working? There are two plugs for the receiver and two yellow wires that I'm assuming are for the speaker. There are 3 sets of red and black wires, two sets that are joined to each other and one set that is separate. I'm thinking the two detached go to the +/- of the battery but no clue where the other red/black wires go. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I purchased on of those myself just lately and it only came with a single red and black pair for power. Your right about the yellow for the speakers. Can you post a picture for the lead setup as i don't see that system on they're web site?

Thanks Steamer. I got two of them in the mail yesterday and they both have 3 sets of red/black leads, I tried hooking everything up except for the two sets of r/b but no sound. I didn't want to hook the other ones up because I didn't want to fry the whole sound unit.

If you have a "smart phone" the Google translate is fantastic. You can either take a photo and it translates or it works in real time. Stuff from China now becomes really easy to read.

It doesn't however make it any easier to understand sometimes.

Just trying to help

That is different:confused: mine only has one set of red and black power wires. I wonder if one set is for a remote on / off switch option now? Or is it for different voltage input used??

This sound system is exactly like the one RC4WD sells and they are both knock offs of the Servonaut SMX. One set of paired black and red wires can be used as an input for the speed of the engine sound, instead of using input from the receiver the two wires hook to the motor wires and as the motor speeds up and slows down so does the sound. The other set of paired wires is used for a special horn sound that requires a separate board and speaker. The black and red wires that are separate are the power in for the sound unit.

Connect the SMX to the battery via the red (+)
and the black (-) cable. The yellow cables have
to be soldered to the loudspeaker. Plug ‘FR/ESC’
(blue housing) into matching port of the Servonaut
speed controller (‘Sound’ connector). Starter
and horn (F1+F2) are controlled via another receiver
channel (here: channel 8). Cables F3 and
F4 are normally used in conjunction with a multiswitch
(e. g. Servonaut MM4). F3 switches the
‘Martinshorn’ (a special sort of alarm siren used
in Germany). F4 is used to simulate an auxiliary
drive. You can connect F4 directly to the drive
motor as well. Functions F1+F2 and F3+F4 can
be interchanged (see chapter Switching Functions).
The SM+ add on is installed as shown
(short cable plugged into SMX, long cable
plugged into free receiver channel, here: receiver
channel 9).

Have anyone compared the sound quality and functions of the China knock off, too the Servonaut SMX?

I have a servonaut SMT and the Chinese version. The only noticeable difference I've found is lower volume. Same speaker used on each but noticed the SMT is much louder.

I think you would need a pretty massive trailer to haul them too because if I remember right they are 44lbs a piece.lol

I can't say how loud my HD is with the two small speakers compared to Mario's larger single but you can tell in the videos that his has a deeper tone. Mine are pointed at the ground also so when you are on concrete it is much louder than on soft dirt. If I ever get a sound unit for my small KW it will be interesting to see how that works since the speakers are mounted in the rad shell pointing forward with shutters that open and close.

Hey guys, just one more question!! LOL. I just tried installing the second sound system into my "Pete" daycab but when all connected, ESC will not work. If I unhook the sound system, ESC works fine. Could it be the ESC is not powerful enough to run the sound system? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like a problem with the sound system hookup. Does the onboard LED light up?
The ESC signals are basically 'pass thru' going from RX thru the Sound Board into the ESC. Retrace all of your RX plugs and leads to make sure they're in the right slot. Sometimes it's tricky to get the ESC plugged into the Sound Board.
Make sure the separate SB power leads go to a 7.2V or higher battery. (I install an on/off switch in the power lead to shut off sound without unplugging battery)
And make sure the top programming plug is in the f1-f2 position.
Hope this helps...
