hi all,
I have chosen to instead, build a walking R/C hydraulic excavator rather than a backhoe loader for now. I have plenty of scrap metal and want an awesome machine. I have seen very few R/C hydraulic walking excavators out their and am going to build one because they are awesome machines:cool:. does any body know how to post pictures? thanks for reading!

I use a Photobucket account. It is free, and you can store pics and videos on there and have them available all the time.:D

Sorry I don't know where to get hydraulic stuff for cheap but I did find this build. It's a Menzi-muck in 1:15 scale which is a very similar to the Kaiser. It might give you some ideas.

Build thread (French speaking forum just run it through Google translate)

I am just blown away! I've seen videos of the 1:1 version of these but never in a million years would have thought someone would make a functional scale version that actually functions that well!

You the champ Finster! How many more gems do you have stashed away? :)

Hi..welcome to the forum, and thanks for showing an interest in the hobby. I admire your courage and enthusiasm;) Weeeell..there is..actually...a reason why we see so FEW of these machines out there...models of walking excavators...
'In the meantime I'm looking for scrap metal parts'? Sorry, no offense, I do not know if you are 12 years old, or a grown up person, and I don't wish to ruin your enthusiasm at all, rather try to avoid you from ruin your own enthusiasm of the hobby at an too early stage...; what about start out with a bit less complicated project rather than a model of one of the most advanced hydraulic excavators know in the history of the Mother Earth..?

Not to insult, you are not going to find a GOOD hydraulic pump/system under a $100 to perform the functions you will need to operate your crane properly. Furthermore, the project you are attempting to undertake is a daunting project. Scrape metal, not quite sure what you mean......best advice, is to save your money and take it one part at a time.
