Got a new fella from Amazon, completely out of scale, or not. After some hacks, it should be a useful machine.

A huge terminal forklift looks like so much fun to play with! Especially one as nice as this. I think the cab is about the right size compared to the wheel size, but on those I've seen the cab is mounted a bit further back, behind the front wheels instead of over them. That difference might give the illusion of a longer wheelbase and smaller cab, maybe?

I had to make a static load test, 6 kilos 2 inch in front of drive axle center. that gives zero kilos on the steer axle, with no counterweight on the rear part.

That's a heck of an upgrade!

The cab might be a little small, hard to tell without a truck or a figure around. It might like the bottom of the door lowered a bit more

Thank you Wombii. It's the most fun build in a long time. Today is Finetuning and put all components in. Steering and Gear shift work flawlessly.

Thanks for your input Frizzen. Yes, the cab is little small, not sure if I'm changing or not. Went to Tractor Supply today, And this Mack fell in my arms.......Had to save it from some kid......:D That cab on the crane part is looking quite OK, Just to narrow for Forky. I like the ford tractor cab, it reminds me of a control tower, some aircraft tugs, and a few fire engines from the 70s. But I was trying to scale it off a big Hyster at work, i've never been around the container handlers. I definately wasn't criticizing, it looks cool.

Nice score on the crane, i didn't know TSC had those back in yet

It's OK I like when someone put in an effort to make things better or smarter.
The size of the cab is bugging me a bit. but this one needs that Ford Cab i think.
Next one is a different story. The Crane has broken down already :lol: I'm a curious guy, I'm thinking I'll put tracks under the crane, and use the Mack cab for a service truck. But that's down the road. Forky first.

In this Forky I run 2x 7.2 Volt for driving and lifting stuff. the third is for lights and funky functions. If it was a race truck I'd lay the battery flat. Hmmmm. Race Truck! That could be a cool thing, I might look into that. :jaw:

Thanks, Skeeter. Yes, this is going to be on heavy-duty jobs, around the yard. Been busy with the holiday and that thing they call work. Anyway, the lift test is on the way, so far so good, might have to get a stronger lift motor. I suppose I have a high demand for this unit. :D

Before you go ordering other motors, might want to take a couple passes off the cable bed of your winch drum. Smaller diameter gives slower line speed, but less moment the torque from the line has against the motor.

Good eye Frizzen. :) I have one more winch drum sitting in the lathe right now, just need a better axle to fit the bearings. One more bottleneck is the wire gauge also. Need to get bigger and shorter wire, they get an itty bitty hot :cop:
The lift mast is one other story, lots of friction and bending. Cheapest plastic I've seen in a long time. I might have to bite the bullet and make a better one, now when the rest of "Forky" run so good.:D

Thanks, Frizzen. It worked pretty well. The beam is 6 foot 4 Inches I think it's nearly eight-foot overall. The green beam is 5 foot 4 inches and the yellow is 4 foot 2 inches long. they all turn on a dime. :D The Blue Man is a fast little bugger. :lol:

Hey Joe, Hope things are well up north. Logos are a fun part of displaying and personalizing our stuff. Let's see what can happen:D.

Would love to have a travel partner, I try to catch sleep when I fly, But layover can be long and tedious as h3ll. And then the ground transportation. I could have a co-pilot/navigator. That would be a lot more fun. I've just started Beam Hauler BO-DOG's World tour last year with London UK. Still a lot of places on the tour list. So come on a journey with me somewhere. I promise to guide us to the right gate. Why not Australia after Harvest?

Thuringia's largest modeling fair "Model Life" will open Europe's largest model truck indoor course for the astonished visitors.

Seven days of construction and a 30-member team of volunteers are needed to create a paradise of model making on almost 2,000 m². A total of 3 stately trucks provide material and decoration to enable over 500 tons of earth and sand to be built. Already, the domestic 3 D printers for the production of houses, trees or people run in miniature hot. With a lot of tact and patience then a wonderful world is created on a small scale for you.

At the fair weekend, we look forward to more than 500 truck drivers from ten countries from 2 continents, including England, Poland, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, as well as a guest driver from New York, who will provide great action on the course.

For us, it is a unique opportunity to show our hobby to an interested audience. At the same time, we will implement many new ideas on the site this year, "says Raik Stäber, the chief organizer of the Truck Parcours.

For the first time, there will be a port with a water canal in the area of the truck course this year, where ships can dock. Right next to it, you can admire the garden railway, which meanders through subterranean channels in our exhibition halls.

Not only remote-controlled trucks, agricultural vehicles, construction machinery (scale 1:12 to 1:16) and other "heavy equipment" will be on the course on the road. Also, various garden railways (scale 1: 22.5 to 1: 29.5) will make their rounds. Several kilometers of road and one kilometer of the track are being constructed for this ambitious project in Hall 3.

This allows guests to get up close and enjoy the action right away. But big and small visitors can not only watch but can also initiate actions themselves on the course. Then, among other things, solar panels and petroleum pumps start to move.

Numerous other highlights invite you to discover and marvel, including demonstrations by model fire engine vehicles with real fire and water, a sunken and glazed tunnel in the ground for trucks and garden railways and a variety of unique truck pieces, from the program "Asphalt Cowboys ", are known. For the sixth edition of the Thuringian Modellbaumesse, the only pure modeling fair in the new federal states, more than 100 company, and club exhibitors are expected, offering almost everything that makes the hearts of big and small model builders beat faster. In two exhibition halls, 18,000 square meters of exhibition space creates a variety of worlds in miniature.

I use RCP's Rear bumper in front to get hood and front bumper mounted properly. Lesu, three-speed gearbox works really well. I also run Lesu, rear axle to add some weight in the rear. What you see in the picture is a mock-up, but close to final result minus the rubber band.

O my world how much gravel and topsoil there was. They had three axle trailers bringing in the material in two halls five or six arias. I think in all there was 500 ton of dirt trucked in. The place is so huge so I had problems finding the time to watch it all. EDIT! Yes, there was an armada of Earthmoving equipment. many very expensive machines from a German manufacturer,

Looks like it was a great time! I don't come on the site very often anymore so this is the first time seeing the Bo-Dog with the new bumper. I had been wondering what one might look like in black. I like it!

Ambassador Bo! Spreading smiles all around the globe!:D:D:D Good stuff!

The time was fabulous. I have never seen this much RC trucks and machines in one place ever before. Well worth the 2 x 17 hours of travel time from door to door. This KH is an entirely new build. I spent a week and a half making it. The old KH was in the luggage to Germany with fried electronics; the BEC went into meltdown mode the night before takeoff time all wires that were bundled next to BEC wires melted and all wires needed to be replaced. Not enough time so I did a Picasso painting on the grill and bumper for a better look, was dry when I arrived in Germany.:lol: The new KH worked flawlessly for the whole event. Yes, there were a few smiles.

The video(s) with you backing in/through &/or around the barn............Is that the barn that I've seen in videos that has an RC have fork arm thingy in the hayloft? I saw a video from one of the German shows where they were stacking loose hay in the hayloft with a modified RC crane & grapple system. Just curious if you think that may have been the barn it was shot in/at?

Thanks, Skeeter. Yes, that's the barn. The lift was broken at this time. Martin Pfister is the owner/builder and he goes around Europe on different shows, he also makes videos on the shows. That building is stunningly beautiful and has so many details incorporated. And the fact that it sat on a raised platform made it so much easier to see and interact with.

Danke Schön Frizzen. I heard a few comments.......lol. The best one was the Hertz car rental guys. We're sorry Mr. Bo The car you have booked has not arrived here, Unfortionally the car was wrecked this morning and, a replacement car is on the way. Bo says is there any car here now I can use?
The Guy respond yes but your Luggage wouldn't fit, it's only very small cars left here. Bo replies. No problems I'll take a small car, I'm in a hurry. The two rental guys walked me to the car, Saw me load that car and probably still standing there with wide open mouths. Other than that everything went smooth

Any chance you might have gotten any other pics with the light blue trailer behind the dark blue VW bus in the top pic?
I love the diverse mix of cars and trucks there! (I'm not the only one driving VWs at a meet)

The worker in the manhole is great. May have to hit the hobby shop to see if i can find any pilots wanting a career change...

Thanks, Frizzen. It might surface pictures at some point. There was thousands of cool stuff and that VW Trailer was a cutoff VW van with a drawbar. Do not remember if the owner drove it or it was a static model. I'll keep my eyes peeled; People keep sending pictures every day. So there is hope.

Great Idea...........Weekend Cruise, I'm back from the UK July 17. From that date to Septembers last week there will be great opportunities. I'll check this weekend and come up with some ideas. :bounce:

Thanks, Frizzen, Well the cowered bridge will be a slight bit modified from the picture above, but still one lane. Already started cutting some wood while I was at it with the first bridge, some bits have the same measurements so the sawmill is singing and dust flying.:D

My helper Chuck was too small, Had to make a holder for the job. Note the countersunk screw, that sucker will self-center the rim and hold it snug for the operation.

Thanks, Skeeter, Yes I like to make stuff the easiest way possible but not give up on functionality and performance. I am very pleased with these tires, they look good and the traction on loose surfaces is way better than other tires tested, I think they will be the ultimate choice for dump trucks and trailers.
