I was cutting a piece and turned on the mill when endmill was below part, took a chunk out of endmill and probably have to tram mill now. Not happy!! These two endmills are my two favorite tools, well they were, the longer one got chewed up by too deep of cut on some hardened tool steel. Just got me thinking what everyone els has for favorite tool, machine.

Might sound dumb but I get a kick out of my cordless dremel, use it for all kinds of jobs. Then again don't know what I would do without my air compressor really handy to have.

I have no pics right now because my favorite tools are in my tool box at work. I've got wrenches from my grandfathers tools, from a manufacture that doesn't exist anymore, but the wrenches still do to this day.....Guess that's why they ain't around anymore:rolleyes:
and a few handmade pry bars and chisels made by him which I use all the time.they work so well, the angle, the strength. He knew what he was doing when he made them way back then.
I see his initials engraved on them each time I use. :)

"What's your favorite tool?"
The one that saves the day (and my butt) on the project I'm working on! ;)
Really... I don't have a fancy mill machine, an expensive lathe or even a 3-D printer (well, not yet), but if I did I would be in more trouble as far as things to do than I have now! :bounce:

This Milwauke tote bag with 18v drill & 1/4" impact, best cordless tools I've ever had... might charge each pack 3x a yr... entire month of seeding the 1/4 impact used several times daily buzzing hose clamps to clear seed run blockages, one charge with power to spare! I think I got them summer of '10.

Years ago I bought a drill and impact cordless set, I needed a new drill and it was cheaper with batteries to get the combo. I never thought I would use the impact for much. After having it and driving 6" screws into gluelams I don't know how I put homes together without one!!! I hear ya Joe, cordless drill have come a long way. Building decks I rarely use any corded tools, except for chop saw and circular saw. Have 4batteries on job and only have to change once in a full day of driving deck screws into decking, three screws at each joist only pre drilling end pieces. That is also one of my favorites. Have this one in shop and I think I'm going from December on last charge. Use it to change collets

More than anything Cooper it's battery technology has improved immensely... I bought a 3spd Dewalt cordless drill, maybe 2002, always stored in the warmth of the house, not used too often & both batteries couldn't hold a charge a couple yrs later. That 14v Dewalt cost more than the two Milwaukes together. :(
My neighbor has Bosch cordless gear, couple yrs ago framed & sheeted in a 26x26 garage in one day with cordless skill saw, 3 packs worth... impressive!

Yep, on my 18V milwuakee hammer drill, 1 batt will out last 1 24volt batt on my former dewalt hammer drill . Now the dewalt powers the cat 990 . Dewalt has good motors , but their batts aren't the best .

Welder for me, have a Miller 220 Mig, I use my welder to fix an make a lot of things, it has certainly paid for itself 10 times over. I don't remember how many time's that I've used it to fix things on my skidsteer, tractors, crawler loader, Welded a new blade on to my skidsteer bucket.
Also use the cutting torch a lot to.

OK Not good at videos yet. But if you work in plastic / ABS or stuff like that This hot air gun is adjustable between 100-420F witch means you can control the amount of heat to what the plastic can handle for forming to shape you want. Even bending styrene pipes with no kinks. and it does not cost an arm and a leg.http://www.ebay.com/itm/850-SMD-Rework-Electric-ESD-Soldering-Station-Hot-Air-Gun-Desoldering-Kit-110V/222412698446?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.M BE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908110712%26meid%3D3b3d32 f751b94902b87bd36ece6dc51f%26pid%3D100677%26rk%3D8 %26rkt%3D30%26sd%3D162039872138&_trksid=p2385738.c100677.m4598

My buddy has one of those soldering units. Very nice, kinda big foot print though if you have a small work area.

Most of you get use big boy tools on big boy projects. For me can't get through r/c without a dremel with a 90 degree chuck.

Yes that's my struggle too.........but the thing does so much good work on plastic so i might build a shelf on top of it and use that as a tool aria for other often used thingamajiggers.........I'm working on prototyping something. i'll show picture when done.

I also have a hot air tool similar to yours and I keep it on a shelf over my main workbench. Very handy in that location, out of the way when not needed and yet the hose is long enough that I can still easily use it to work on PC boards, bend plastic as you do and even quick dry paint. BTW, these tools are simply the best way to apply heat shrink tubing.

Agree a lot right there. One thing on my machine the hoose is stupid short. did not check it before i ordered......Oh Well it has to do for now. One other thing is plastic can be formed without burning your fingers to ashes.......and no soot from stupid lighters when working on shrink tubes......hated that for 30 years.

I'm of similar mind, but with the flexible drive attachment for me, & mine. once/IF I ever figure out CAD well enough, I think the 3D printer will be my new ATF tool.
