Just wondered how many of you guys use McMaster-Carr for hardware needs? Espeefan turned me on to them many years ago, it's been very handy for the metric hardware we use in this hobby.

I use my local Fastenal store for most of my hardware needs.

I use them all the time for bulk buys, just make sure you tell them that everything needs to ship from the same warehouse and that you wont pay separate shipping costs from different locations which so far I haven't had an issue with.

Not so lucky for us up north. I placed an order once. They sent back an email saying they won't ship to Canada nor a general po box in the US and cancelled the order. So that was the end of my experience with them.:(

Yup, I can buy 10 bushings for the price of one at local hardware store. Order before 6 pm on Monday have it by 10am (usually) on Tuesday. Also most of my metals are from them as I can get specific sizes or different alloys. Tools, not so much as they are pricey but they have what you need. I like to support the local guy at small town hardware store but I like keeping what money I can:). About the only thing they don't have is the small hydraulic hose fittings premacon sells. But Amazon has them a lot less (smc is the company that makes um) most all the stuff I get comes from jersey warehouse, every once in a while some metals come from Michigan? Wisconsin ? One of them but still a quick shipping. One of my favorite places to shop, speaking of, got to go look for stuff next. ;)

Same for me Supermario, but this place is very good, ship fast and have most of the metric hardware. Never had a problem with it being sent by USPS to Canada.

Both McMaster-Carr and Fastenal are great to utilize. I agree with Truckmaker on the shipping with McMaster-Carr.

My first stop to see if a part I need exists. If McMaster doesn't have it no one will.
Also, free cad models of most components.

Had a bad experience with Mc master Carr, never again!
FYI ' specialty parts like acme thread taps ship direct from manufacturer and the website won't tell you. Therefore multiple shipping charges.
Quick shipping.

I order from them 2-3 times a week for my company. If I order before noon, their driver typically delivers the same day. I'm not sure why my company needs so much 3mm hardware but it does!
