Not sure if this has been done before by other members here, but I was thinking about doing a Hess tanker with the hopes that I can get the day cab 3d printed and use the tamiya tank kit painted appropriately. Was thinking about the earlier models in green with the iconic yellow fenders and red rims vs the all white with green stripes . If this has already been done I would love to see it.

Out of all the trucks I've seen on here none of them were Hess truck replicas. I loved getting Hess Christmas trucks every year. That truck is an icon and if you can replicate that, it would be pretty cool even if it has been done before!!

I agree 100% need to coctact a good source for 3D printing to get the cab right, as there is no way im getting it done with reworking a stock cab. Body work is not my strong suit. I'll start looking around for someone that can tackle such a job, any hints or tips would be helpful as 3D printing is new to me. Keep ya posted to my findings.

What tractor are you trying to replicate, the Freightshaker or one of the older Whites?

wanted to go as vintage as possible, so it would be one of the white co. cabs. thinking the entire cab would have to be printed as i dont see any of the stock cabs fitting the bill. Now that im looking at pics of the truck I would also need to work the tanker body as well as the leading edges on the older hess tanks have slanted edges vs the stock tamiya tank kit. But Im sure it would be worth it.. to me atleast I've been collecting hess all my life. https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hullbreach.com%2FIm ages%2F1967-holiday.jpg&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hullbreach.com%2Fhess.h tm&docid=7QLRRYL2lnMpwM&tbnid=vruqPIZoemDpjM%3A&vet=10ahUKEwiSh7fbu83UAhVCFT4KHcAuAe8QMwhHKBEwEQ.. i&w=450&h=210&bih=560&biw=360&q=1983%20hess%20truck&ved=0ahUKEwiSh7fbu83UAhVCFT4KHcAuAe8QMwhHKBEwEQ&iact=mrc&uact=8

That is something that might be possible. But you are talking a pretty good chunk of change, somewhere around $200 - $250 range just for the cab.
