It is photobucket. They are now making you pay to use them to host pics to use on the forum. It is called third party hosting. Cost is around $400 per year per person! We are trying to find another way for members to posts pics for all to see.

Everyone is either scrambling to save their pics, or photobucket already locked them out and is holding them hostage for $400 / year

The build threads will really never be the same, even if we had the forum unlocked to allow edits beyond 20 min.
Hopefully people have backups of their pics, and will care care enough to attempt fixing their old posts.

It has nothing to do with caring about fixing the pictures, it's about the time it will take and being able to figure out what pictures go where, some of these threads were many years in the making. It'll never be the same. We will just have to move forward from here.

You got me, i'm being a pessimist. By ''caring about fixing them" i was including all the time to try salvaging pictures, sorting them, uploading somewhere better, and relinking pics to threads.

There are a lot of people who have moved on, passed on, or just have threads big enough it's probably not worth fixing all of it. I know i'm not going to attempt to backtrack everywhere i've ever posted pics since something like 2004. How many users have gone inactive since the board started?

The upside is photobucket has a Download Album option that makes a zip file to pull everything in that album down at once. But it's still pretty slow.

I agree 100%. I deleted all my pictures and then deleted my account. They offered free use and I took advantage for 9-years but now I will NOT pay.
