You could physically put a 3 way switch in place of a 2 way, but it would still be a 2 way switch because the 3rd circuit is missing. A 'good' transmitter with alot of 3 way functionality will most likely not be budget friendly as you're asking for more options.

I upgraded to a Radiolink AT9s not a really expensive radio but has 3 three position switches 2 variable knob and 3 two position along with 2 sliders. Radio has plenty of functionality for the money also has lots of pre programed mixes and room for custom mixes. Look them up.

Why not pay a little more & support a company from your own country, instead of sending more money to china? Spektrum DX9 has several 3pos, sliders & a knob, you can channel assign any switch as you like, and several mixes & F modes too. It's very user friendly, easy to program.

The Taranis Q X7 is a cheap 16 channel radio using the OpenTX open source firmware. It allows you to swap out any switch to 2 / 3 / multi position and assign channels, flight modes, mixes or custom functions to any switch. It is however NOT what I would call user friendly or easy to program. Expect to spend some time watching tutorials on youtube if you get one :)

Some radios are wired for 3 pos, some aren't.

When i first got into rock crawling it was a common thing to pop open a traxxas TQ3, change the thumb rocker to a toggle. All the wiring was already to the switch so it was quick and easy.

I've also cracked open some that don't even have any pads at the board to make it happen.
