Hi there, I’m new here and I’ve commented on posts but haven’t had any replies, I want to modify my cab sleeper to a KW W900A but can the MFU fit with the battery if I shorten the sleeper ? Appreciate the help

No problem to fit the mfu in a shortened sleeper.
You may have to abandon the loudspeaker box, but otherwise it's a relatively easy (although tight) fit.

It's what I did in this truck : KH with shortened sleeper (https://rctruckandconstruction.com/showthread.php?t=2426)

By the way, as already mentionned by another forum member, you could consider much smaller sound/light modules available on the market (Beier, Servonaut, etc...)

Great thanks, I already have the tamiya mfu, so if the speaker box is removed is there much difference in sound ? Cheers James

That does not make a huge difference to me....I personnally use to put the speaker behind the hood grill

As for shortening the sleeper, that's really a basic...I can just suggest to use adhesive tape to mark accurately the part to be removed, then use a fine saw (or a hobby knife....gives cleaner cuts, so less file work, but much more dangerous for the fingers). Better position the tape on the side you will keep.

When you get your two parts, glue them together using some thin plastic stripes inside to align and reinforce the joint, and eventually body putty to fill the remaining gap.
