Sorry, i'm a little late posting some photos from the show this past June (life ya know). Weather was perfect this year and I had a great time with a great bunch. Thanks Terry and everyone else who made this show happen.

This was held at county fairgrounds and there was really nothing else scheduled there at the time of the show and was not listed as a public event. But there were a few locals who stopped by to see what was going on.

The Mack is mine. Has been a work in progress now for over a year. I also got the basic body from 3dcults, probably the same one you have as I think it's the only one that looks decent. When you go to print it make sure you have the latest updated files. The original files had a lot of errors in them and the cab and hood were almost impossible to line up and attach to each other. The newer files work much better.

Thanks for the hint... good to know about the files. I was a little worried about how it would look printed but yours looks really good so at least I know the model is good..
Any idea of what the date on the updated files are mine is a hora file date 12/30/2019
Oh and I'm going to bug the heck out of you when I build it.

Awesome pics!

Looks like a pretty great turnout at that meet! Doesn't look like it was too crowded and bunched up either.

Jerry - just to make sure we are talking about the same files, the designer who made the model I built goes by the name "Alpha Centari" (sic). His updated files are dated 1/17/23. The date you cite for your files is too early for even his original files.

Like any 3D printed model it takes a ton of post-processing to prep the body for paint. What I do is coat the body with automotive glazing putty to fill in the gaps between layers and then sand with 120 grit. After that it's primer/filler and sand, primer/filler and sand till body looks good then start working through 220, 320, 400 grit using plain primer between each. Then wet sand 600 and 1000 grit. Finally spraying several coats of paint doing a 1000 grit wet sand between each coat. I also put a clear coat on this model doing two coats with a wet sand after first and leaving 2nd coat as gloss finish. I used Krylon spray paint. The color scheme I used is modeled after a photograph of a B-61 that I found on the internet. (Seems like I spent months searching for information about these Macks on the internet.)

Thanks Frizzen. Friday was a little light on the attendance but there was a real good turnout for Saturday. But by mid-afternoon the crowd thinned out again. Was a real good time.

Thanks Zabco, I found it...
That's the way I finish 3d printed stuff....It takes a lot of time and patience which is why I don't print to many things that need that level of finish work LOL....
