It's an E max 2 speed trans . It works great , but, they're a lil big for a 14th/16th scale highway truck . It moved a good couple yards of fill today :D with the naggin tire issue :( but fun as H311 :D

no :o I got a paint scheme in mind just tryin to figure out how to mask all the lil stars in it . I could send it to Spudd but I'll probably never see it again  I got a few little details to do then I can paint it . Problem may be shutting it down to paint when the quarrying starts  , guess I'll have to just throw some construction orange on it .

For the stars, I assume you are thinking of the 1976 bi-centennial red, white & blue. I just so happen to have a hole punch that cuts stars. I did a test by applying blue painters tape to a sheet of .005" styrene, & it punched thru with ease. Then with some patients, i peeled off the blue "Masking" star. So with that, i would spray the area the stars are needed in white, then carefully punch & apply the stars where needed, then paint the blue over the masked stars......:D You can order one cheap on amazon here http://www.amazon.com/Fiskars-23537097-Star-Hand-Punch/dp/B0033PCMMI

Volume wise, a ton (2000lbs) fills what area of your trk box Steve?

Joe , I can get 2.5 ton (5000 lbs)in the dodge so a ton is level at the top of the wheel wells .

Mack , that's it :D where did you find the pic ? I've looked forever .

There was a thread on bigmacktrucks.com about the stars and stripes Mack's.
There also was a thread with all the real heavy off road Mack's think I had saved the pic after seeing it.

Looking good. I have seen these macks painted in many different colors, dark yellow, red, white...it's not like the traditional cats where 99% are all yellow.

I've been using Vaseline for yrs to do this... get some on an area you wanted to paint, use a Q-tip soaked with lacquer thinner to wipe away a clean edge... I've even tried this method for curvy paint lines on plastic bodies with good results. ;)

Do you use electrical cleaner to clean the grime away? I used a can of that to clean off the oily grime from my 850 after the cyl leaky mess all over the bottom of the stick & coupler... it was like it was steamed off. ;)

Ether old trick I used when prepping oil pans for reinstall . Never had a leaky oil pan or timing cover yet :D I just can't get the same stuff I used years ago , seams to leave a bit of oily residue that I have to blow off . electrical cleaner is real good too , I just never have it when need it :( ether is always on hand this time a year. yes I may try the Vaseline in the Mack logo on the hubs , I want that to stand out a bit .

almost back together :) leaving the rims raw aluminum to have a break in color  going back to the rc4wd tires just glue the back beads so they don't walk out under a load when turning  For the fronts , I have some flexible foam from 3M to try , Just waiting on the applicator .

wedico tires I got from Ric at indy last year that were defects with bad beads . I noticed the side walls are pretty thick , so cut the beads off for the 2.2" wheels I have . we'll see how it holds up , much better then the mil-spec from rc4wd . also made a better platform for the battery so I don't have to put it through the wind shield
