i didn't know where to post this so i'm trying here
i'm looking for videos of the old "BJ and the Bear" series
can anyone help?
i found the pilot episode and showed it to my better half
she watched it with me and got hooked
she now understands why i am building an RC version of this truck and
she now claimed the truck as hers telling me to finish it exactly like the show
she is after me to get the full series of the show now
HELP!!!!!

gun,it sure does
funny thing, i was always fond of truck shows
and with the better half interested, the old memories come back even stronger
we sit back and enjoyed the pilot episode but with me in analyze mode because of the RC version i'm scratch building,
i spot all the errors where sometimes it's a KW K-100 and other times it's a K-123,different wheels,interiors,etc
lol
but ya gotta love the cleanliness of the shows back then
not like today,i truly respect the old series
i was able to find some other shows like "get smart","gilligans island" and "mchale's navy"
ahhh the good old days

tex, thanks for the link
very much appreciated
now for the canada post to get off their butts and get to work
strike is rediculous

so you know why i'm seeing all the flaws
here's a pic of the BJ semi i'm building
close enough?
lol

trust me, i looked
lol
since the picture, i've added KW mudflaps
in some shows, the truck had alloy wheels, others had 5-hole or 2-hole wheels
the 2-hole wheels are ordered
hard part will be to decide which version to go
ahhhh, maybe i'll build multiple trucks
lol

i think you should build the version that sticks in your mind the most. i always think of the truck sliding around that corner bobtail with the alum. wheels ! now im going to buy that dvd and its all because of you! lol

LOL
i remember the full dress version best
aluminum wheels with red centers
dual stacks
i personally didn't care for the truck with the single exhaust stack

Glen,
If you go on line and type B.J. and the Bear fan club in the search engine a whole bunch of stuff pops up on one of the sites you can even watch episodes of the show.
That truck looks awsome are you going to put the headlights on the cab keep up the good work.

alot to do yet
i started this build the first week of july 2009
as for the headlights, i'm thinking maybe a set from PMD
only ones i found so far
i did alot of research online but discovered so much discrepancy
there are alot of clones/copies
i'm using the tv shows for accuracy
so far i only have the pilot episode and one other episode to go by
i made a reefer unit for the trailer
the tamiya reefer unit would be great if i was copying a modern copy
but there are no reefer units of the original tv one
i scratch built an original reefer unit
now to make the underbody tank to fuel the reefer
lol

I'll totally recemend truckerflicks.com
The B.J & the Bear series is better than any other copies out there!
Other than that nothing compares. good luck from Rookie !

detailed:

Another option is a torrent site-search. I did a quick search, and found season 2 & 3 online: 12.65 Gb for S02; 7.91 Gb for S03. I could probably ask in the torrent links if anyone has Season One...

If you want some help getting it, I have lots of bandwidth, and could d/l and write it to DVD for you if you don't have access.

Now if someone had ideas about some of the wilder rigs... like the Happy Toys 'Green Goblin' truck from Maximum Overdrive, or some of the CCKW-353's from 'Red Ball Express'... (lotta good Sherman images in the movie too!)
