I found 1/14 scale trucks on You Tube, :cool:thought that would be nice. I then started in Ebay, I sold, a tig welder, a Triton work centre, 2 model aircraft engines, :oa pair of ladies shoes (she doesn't know yet), a gazebo and started cleaning the shed she spoke saying (you can have one). After I bought it I started looking at forums to get help in building it and I found this place. The King Hauler and 40' Container Trailer arrived yesterday, :confused:now where do I start? :D:D:D

Followed Willy (CustomRCModels) and Joe (LilGiants) over from the Yahoo group.

Was there with them, they remember me. Got relly sick in '05 (crohns in the throat) and they finally op'd in '08, and I'm finally getting all my ducks ligned up again.

Anyone know what happened to the guy from Italy who was building a place in his back yard? He has one of Muellers Faun transporters, and was interested in selling... now I have dinero, and canna find him!

Googled custom Tamiya trailers and up popped this site. Poked around for a few days to make sure it wasn't a ghost town forum and signed up! Now i'm always in here reading old threads and new ones soaking up all the great knowledge and talent, learning tricks here and there. Now if I could just figure out how to join a club or which club to join. Can you be in 2? :)

I got into this hobby and here after seeing tamiya's video of the king hauler as a teenager. Fast forward a few years and after I finished my training with gaining my B Double licence I decided on a new hobby and picked up my single drive scania with a petrol tanker. Fast forward a year now there is a twin drive scania waiting for my birthday and a reefer trailer thats just been built for it :) I found this forum after a few google searches and here I am.

I actually stumbled upon the rc 1/14 scale trucks like a year ago on youtube was a bit interested. then started watching the videos about 3 months ago maybe more. Then I googled forums and got on garden trucking i think. seen a big post from lilgiants and i think he mentioned he was over here alot so i began poking around here. Was lurking for a few weeks then signed up now im on like 3 or for but i spend most of it here. Now I'm just working on funds to get my first truck, which i think will be a king hauler that eventually will be a dump.

I went to the Indy show last August, looking for Tonka parts. I showed up early and the only room I could get into was the one set up so owners could drive their trucks, and operate their construction equipment.

I'm not quite sure when the bug bit me that day, but I couldn't shake the desire to have one of those trucks.

It turned out there was only one couple there that day selling Tonka parts, and they made the trip worthwhile.

Actually, I'm currently in Delaware finishing up Locomotive Engineer class and my instructor is heavy into RC planes and so I started searching for info and BAM! Here I am. It's amazing how much info and how helpful everyone is here!!! I'm definitely gona pay a visit to my local hobby shops when I get back to Portland, Or. I LOVE the construction vehicles, but I think I'll start with a Unimog or LandCruiser for first project. Thanks again!

Started with toy junk, got out around late elementry school.
Saw an ad about 1/64 rc, got into tiny stuff Zipzaps, bit char-g, ...
In A&P school a guy was big into nitro traxxas stuff, sold me an already old then msc Rustler.
Few years later hanging out on rccrawler.com looking at Wheelieking conversions, everyone said wait a couple months, picked up the first release of Axial AX-10 kit. Comp crawled for a while.
Kept seeing cool scale trucks, went to scale4x4rc.com kept seeing all kinds of other cool stuff in big rig, agricultural, industrial sections. Heard after action reports about the 'Indy Show', and it was at a hotel near work. That's awesome, maybe next year. Same thing, you missed a great show.
Fgd launched this board, i checked it out in it's first couple months. That looks so cool, i hope it takes off.
Got mostly out while too busy working on the house.
Proline launched an early Jeep XJ, i needed a mini-me for my late XJ. An axial scx-10 joined me.
I kept going back to the excavators and dumptrucks posted on scale. I didn't plan to go all LilGiants style, but it looked fun. Smallhaul and Stuff made Unit Cranes into draglines, a way to dig dirt for well under the Hydro machines price.
I found a rough nylint Michigan T-24 Crane and a structo Dumptruck in antique shop. Rvjimd had a build thread on his crane here, maybe he'll share tips...

Now i think you'll have a hard time getting rid of me.

I got my first RC as a child, it was the Radio shack yellow monster truck. next was an airboat. They truck broe when it hit a small puddle. After that, I took a break from Rc stuff for a few years, then at 23, my uncle had a nitro TRaxxas. It looked & sounded cool. My brother got one, then talked me into getting one. Had it for a couple years before I took another break from RC things. I always wanted to get back into them, but they were costly. At 33 I found a guy on Craigslist that had several nitro & NiMH Rc cars/trucks fir sale at a great price. I bough the lot of them, ALL 12. Traxxas, Team Associated, Axial, & a couple of off brand stuff was in this lot. I started to R&R the junky stuff in that lot.

One day at the LHS trying to buy a nitro motor for the Tmaxx, a feller was there & saw me buying it. He asked if I wanted some more nitro motors. I inquired how much. He said FREE! I followed him home an hour away. There he showed me his nitro to brushless Tmaxx conversion he made. I picked his brain & learned a LOT of tips & tricks. I took the remaining lot of nitro stuff & got the misc broken parts/pieces repaired to sell them. after selling them, I bought an Emaxx.

Jump ahead a couple more years, & I had stumbled upon some rc semi trucks on the interwebs. I wanted them & started researching them. They at that time were out of reach financial wise. I kept adding other misc LiPo powered stuff to my collection that was acquired for great deals on Craigslist &/or Evilbay. I FINALLY found a great deal on a used Kinghauler & got it. Shortly after getting it, & wondering what others has transformed theirs into, I stumbled upon this place while searching the interwebs.

That's my long story of how I found this AWESOME place. I've been involved with other groups/clubs.forums for Rc stuff. I didn't stay there long. Folks there were NOT too keen on sharing the tips/tricks they had learned & used to build their things. Here folks show great pics & descriptions of what they have done to build the things that they created. I believe that I've learned more from this forum than I have from anywhere else! A great big THANK-YOU to all who've offered advise/tips when I have encountered whilst building my contraptions.

Simply in conversation on the Facebook. Finding of something special can be pretty easy or can be not. It's about chances and numerology predictions, and if you know about number 444 meaning (https://www.zodiacsigns-horoscope.com/angel-numbers/angel-number-444-meaning/) and how it can affect on your life - you will definitely make some corrections to rule your life in different situations, talking to specific people in different manners.

I just may have been the one that led ya here. I LOVE this forum! BEFORE all the various Facebook groups were created, this was the ONLY place to find information pertaining to the scale truck & equipment side of the RC hobby. I frequently post about this forum on various Facebook pages.
