This is my first attempt at this ;) Not to sure what to say but it's a work in progress. I am waiting for parts from Tamiya and Precision trucking to finish it off. As I gain knowledge and skill I plan on building from Scratch. Thanks for taking a look. :)

I'm actually going to be using it as a teaching tool. I am a turnpike driver up here in Canada. The company I work for has turned me into an instructor. So once this is done I need to build 2 53ft vans as well as a C-converter and a tandem axle A-converter. It will be easier for me to teach if I have props plus it will get the guys more eager to listen to me if I have stuff like this. But most of all I get to have an excuse to build this stuff. ;)

love the rear suspension how much did that set you back
Msmaddie
11-10-2011, 03:45 PM
The suspension is from The Bone Yard. It's really nice suspension. I think he sells it for $75 an axle. I bought it off eBay but I noticed he is in the vendors on here.

I must look up that suspension, great realism. It adds nicely to your truck. Did you make a dolly yourself?
SWAGGER
11-11-2011, 07:12 PM
Actually, looking at your pics again, I don't see a dolly. Looks like you stretched out the rear of one of the flatbeds and added an axle and a fifth wheel. Would that be correct? If so, clever, nice work.
Msmaddie
11-11-2011, 10:27 PM
Yeah this one is a B- train style. Fifth wheel is attached permentaly to the lead trailer. Both trailers are getting new frame rails. Lower them 1/2 inch from original. I ordered the triden suspension off of the 56319 tridem. That's about 3 weeks away yet.
I do have a converter coming from garden trucking though. Thinking that should be here Monday along with my headache rack and inter axle driveshaft.
I should have some more pics up tomorrow. :)

Ok here is some new pics of my progress of The Truck and the B box. Changed the tires on the truck to more realistic truck tires, plus installed the rear end. Just waitng for parts so I can finish the truck off for now. The trailer I chopped 1/2 inch off the frame rails as well moved the Tandem right to the back.

Msmaddie, great work! For a first build it's really fantastic and it stands out there. The purple is great. I love the trailer combo and the fact that you will be using these as instructor aids to teach new drivers is pretty cool. Well done and keep us posted on the 53' vans.

Nice progress! Love the flaps in front of the landing gear on the one trailer....seen that on a few trucks that run down here in the states from up north and not only does it look cool but serves a purpose as well!
Keep the pics coming!:)

Every time I see those stock shocks they make me cringe. I really need to start making shocks again.

I agree it that goes for the complete suspension system. I'm taking a shot at doing my own air ride system. Just figuring out the bags now. I so need a lathe.

really nice work - I like how you did the front 'frameless' look - I'll have to go back and do some more research on your thread. And that B-Train turned out very nice.

She is finally complete. I know there isn't any lights. But according to my laws you dont need them to run. Lol. I had the mud flaps made today and thought since I got the hooks and all I would post the last pictures to this build thread.
