Those are some killer kits, I think I may have to talk the wifey out of a jeep project and into one of these.

Pretty neat actually. When I clicked the link, I was expecting it to take me to those goofy little Peterbilt pick-up truck conversions that look really cheesey. You know, those single axle ones with a pick-up box on the back, that have a cab that looks like a Pete. I really don't like those, but these are way nicer. But why a Ford, for the base?

I actually have talked to the manufacturer about getting a Pete kit (a year ago or so). He is in Tennessee. You can read all about it at Lil Big Rig (http://www.lilbigrig.com/Home_Page.php). The reason for the Ford (and it must be an F250, extended cab) is the front axle on the Ford is further forward - giving the Pete the proper look. He is very specific on what years his kit will fit, and they are getting older and cheaper to pick up (pun intended). I have never owned a diesel so I thought this would be a fun project - but finances stopped me from going forward.

I have always said that the first truck manufacturer to make a REAL pickup truck will corner the market, international had that half *** ugly $90k dollar attempt. I'm sick of Ford Chevy n dodge pick ups. Give me a Pete pick up or a Mack, KW, Freightliner. Especially if I can choose my own engine, Cat Cummins, Detroit, or trans combo. Make it reasonably priced to compete with diesel dually Ford Chevy n dodges. I dunno about you guys but I'm pretty sure if Mack made my pick up truck it could handle anything I could ever use it for. What do you guys think?

They had one of these sitting at the Pete dealership in Calgary Alberta a couple years ago. Never seen one actually just out and about though.
