Thanks for the comments guys. The lift axle bend is actually made form a piece of 1/2 solid steel rod that i heated and bent. I had turned it down to fir inside one of Ric's aluminum tamiya axles. i had cut about 1 inch off of each end than inserted the steel axle in side it.

Time to dust off this thread. I had some time this week so I pulled this off of the shelf and stared to finish up what I started. I got the tailgate latch to work. I wasn't going to do this on this truck but after seeing how useless it was at Indy without it I decided to make it work. Thanks for looking!

Can I ask about size of material you used to build your box? The plate for side walls, plate for front outer skin on the box? And the verticle side posts on the outside of the box? looks bigger than 1/4" square. Are those solid alum square stock? How about the under frame of the box which looks Killer btw. Thanks!

Ill have to check on the thickness for you, its about a 32nd or so. The posts are actually brake formed outer skins with 1/4 inch stock under them. The frame is also 1/4 stock. Thanks!
